I called needing an urgent review of my repeat prescriptions. Both Receptionist and Dr accommodated my availability for a phone review and I have the correct medication in my hands 5 hours later. Thank you.

  2. Review titled A big thank you

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Kat - Posted on 07 March 2024

Just wanted to leave a message to say how grateful I am to the staff at Chingford Medical Practice yesterday. The doctor who saw my daughter yesterday acted quickly and calmly to get her emergency care while still taking the time to reassure me so I didn’t go in to full blown panic. A huge thank you also to the nurse who looked after us while we waited for an ambulance and kept talking to my little girl, trying to keep us calm. Hugely grateful. We are home now and she is doing well but just wanted to share my appreciation.

  3. Review titled Very uncaring

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 06 March 2024

My partner has been diagnosed with a rare form of dementia and she can't get organised to ring at 8am and in the 6months since her diagnosis she has had a very brief phone call and no follow up to see if she is OK. It seems like this practice is above putting themselves out unless you can manage to get to ring at the prerequisite time, which she can't do and on top of the dementia she has other medical issues that they have not bothered to find out how she is coping. I wouldn't recommend this surgery unless you are in tip top health and not in need of a GP

Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear of your experience at the practice, we always aim to provide excellent care to patients and I apologise if this may not have been the case. The practice has recently introduced prebookable appointments for patients who cannot call at 8am, so I hope this will be beneficial for you and your partner. Unfortunately, I am not able to look into this further as this review is anonymous. I would be most grateful if you could contact the practice on nelondonicb.chingfordmedicalpractice@nhs.net so I can respond appropriately. Many thanks. Yours sincerely, Madeleine Jenkins Practice Manager

  4. Review titled Very bad experience

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Radina - Posted on 06 December 2023

We had a vaccine appointment today. It was horrible, your employee was very disrespectful the whole time she was angry and mean She prepared the vaccines, she didn't even take the baby’s temperature,(I’ve cancelled the first appointment because he had a little bit cold)we asked her if she wasn't going to check the temperature, and then she got nervous and with great malice grabbed the baby’s head and took his temperature. After the vaccine, the baby cried and she asked us to go out and get better faster I am extremely disappointed with the service It is not permissible for such evil persons to work with children and babies

  5. Review titled Excellent Doctor and Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Marilyn - Posted on 29 August 2023

I just had to leave a review for the Doctor who saw me today. She was very friendly, polite and thorough. I felt she took the time to hear what I had to say and tried her best to help me. On one aspect she needed a second opinion of her diagnosis . As it turned out the more senior doctor agreed with her! Overall it was a very satisfactory experience. Thank you very much!

  6. Review titled talked over and ignored

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Brian Trevor Gilbert - Posted on 07 June 2023

called reception & was talked over & given no time to explain why I did not need to go to a+e but wanted to see a gp. I had not had an accident & it was not an emergency. I hung up and did not recieve any help with my problem. I will not be troubling a&e with something that my gp could have dealt with.

Dear Mr Gilbert, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear you are dissatisfied with the service provided by the practice, we always intend to provide excellent care and signposting to our patients. Our administrative team are trained by GPs from the practice on red flags and certain symptoms which may not be suitable for a GP appointment, in which case they will advise a patient to attend another service, for example A&E, a pharmacy or minor injury unit. I apologise if this was not communicated and you did not feel listened to. Any feedback is extremely important to the practice and I will therefore be passing this on to our reception/admin team. If you would like to discuss this further, please contact me on nelondonicb.chingfordmedicalpractice@nhs.net or via telephone on 020 8524 0900. Yours sincerely, Madeleine Jenkins Practice Manager

  7. Review titled Routine Appointment

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 May 2023

After having two blood tests and receiving a text message to book a routine appointment to discuss blood test results . I was advised that it is not possible to book a routine appointment. Even for a routine appointment I was advised that I have to phone at 8:00 pm and get a appointment for that day. I have even tried to use their dedicated app. issued to me to book a appointment, but permanently no Appointments available, but to phone the practice. It is not surprising that many patients go to A & E, if all GP practices operate on this system, where routine appointments have to be booked in advance of someone who urgently needs to visit a doctor.

  8. Review titled Repeat prescriptions stopped after medication review

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Nigel Grist - Posted on 11 April 2023

I have a heart condition following a heart attack 3 years ago. Every year I have a telephone medications review. Last year my medications stopped completely afterwards with the Practice and the Pharmacy arguing as to who was at fault. The same thing happened this year, except that I received a prescribed box of Aspirin ( which I normally buy anyway ). Despite 2 letters to the Practice Manager in the the last Month, the Pharmacy are adamant that the necessary orders are not coming through from the practice. I have now run out of 3 of the heart medications prescribed ( I have advised the Practice, but no assistance has been forthcoming, which I find totally irresponsible and potentially life threatening. Help!

Dear Mr Grist, I am sorry to hear that you are not happy with our services. It is always our intention to provide excellent and responsive care for our patients and I apologise if this this not the case. The practice has two prescribing clerks and two clinical pharmacists to ensure that patients have a smooth and easy process with their repeat and acute medications and that any problems with medications are quickly resolved. I apologise that on this ocassion this did not happen. Thank you for raising your issues, I would like to investigate this issue internally. We will be in touch with an outcome. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries. Yours sincerely, Madeleine Jenkins Practice Manager 020 8524 0900 nelondonicb.chingfordmedicalpractice@nhs.net

  9. Review titled Prize Practice!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Gloria Foran - Posted on 07 March 2023

I called for a GP appointment this morning and instead of the usual queue and music I was offered an automated system to request a call back when my place in the queue reached number 1. Fantastic, what a brilliant system especially when you’re feeling poorly and can’t concentrate on the call or for those busy families trying to juggle the kids’ breakfast before the school rush!. I was unsure about registering with this Practice when I moved to Chingford 10 years ago, the reviews weren’t great and were especially critical of reception but it’s often the case that women on the front line are first to be slagged off. I took a chance and registered and in 10 years I have had nothing to moan about., not one single complaint. Reception staff are always supportive, the always try to accommodate my needs whether that’s a GP appointment, a surgery Pharmacist query or advice about COVID jabs while having chemotherapy. The GP’s are great too, it’s true I have my preferred ones but I’m always happy to be allocated an appointment with any of them. I strongly recommend this Surgery to anyone living within the catchment area.

Dear Ms Foran, Thank you for taking the time to write such kind words about our practice. Your positive feedback is much appreciated and has been shared with the team. I am happy to hear that the call-back system works well for you, this was introduced to stop patients having to wait on the phone to speak to a receptionist and has reduced the call queue wait times. All staff at Chingford Medical Practice aim to deliver excellent care to our patients and accomodate requests as best as possible, I am pleased your feedback reflects this. Once again, thank you for your comments. Many thanks, Madeleine Jenkins Assistant Practice Manager Chingford Medical Practice
