Very long wait on telephone to make an appointment. Not enough receptionists. Closed Wednesday afternoons. When I did go into surgery to make an appointment, I was offered one at a different surgery miles away. What’s going on with the Cheadle Medical practice ? I would like continuity. Every time I go , I see a different GP. Huge waiting time to see the most respected GPs

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review and I’m sorry to hear you’ve not had a great experience. We are currently recruiting for additional receptionists which we hope will help the situation and reduce call wait times. Patients also have the option to submit routine queries online through our website, which we find can help with phone wait times. We try our best to offer continuity but unfortunately this isn’t always possible, the national shortage of GPs mean there are often fewer appointments than we would like, which has a knock-on impact on continuity. We are trying our best to recruit additional GP support to alleviate the issue.

Unusually, the receptionist that attended to me was very helpful and the practice nurses are always very friendly and welcoming. The doctors have always been quick to react/respond and you never feel like you're being rushed out of the door. It's sometimes difficult to get an appointment but that's the same all over the country.

Thanks for your review. We know booking an appointment can be difficult sometimes, which is why we’re trying to promote as many alternative methods as we can (such as online for routine enquiries) to free up our phone lines. Our receptionists are doing the best they can to help as many patients as possible.

Turned up for appointment on time but had to queue for 20 mins-not a problem, everyone was good natured and the medical staff were excellent as usual

Went for my flu and COVID booster vaccinations. Very well organised. In and out of the surgery. The text inviting me for the vaccines only mentioned the flu jab and not the covid booster, I therefore booked for the covid booster separately in Bramhall. Wasted appointment, as I found out that I could have both at Cheadle at the same time.

Thanks for your review and feedback, I’m pleased to hear everything went smoothly on the day for you. With regards the COVID vaccines, unfortunately we’ve only received a limited supply and haven’t been able to state with certainty which clinics will have supply available and not. So we have had to be clear that we can’t guarantee availability of the COVID vaccine and then signpost to other venues, though I realise this is frustrating! There is also the possibility that if you did not show up on our system as eligible for the COVID vaccine, you would have received communications just for the flu vaccine. Apologies for the frustration and doubling up, but pleased that you've been able to obtain both vaccines in the end.

Long wait for an appointment to see a doctor, four weeks wait for a telephone call from a doctor. Visit the surgery - the place is very quiet with little activity

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review and I’m sorry to hear you’ve not had a great experience. We do see the majority of patients within two weeks of an appointment being booked, and while things may not always seem busy in the reception area, I can assure you that they absolutely are behind the scenes, with our team answering as many calls as they can as quickly as they can.

Very efficient service for my flu and Covid jabs Booking was easy and although there was a bit of a queue when I arrived I was soon called through, about 10 minutes after my initial appointment. Very pleasant lady performed both jabs, one in each arm
