Started insulin Friday at Exeter rd&e Was told to get more test strips and needles from doctors Monday , phoned was told can’t do anything over phone to go web and order receptionist phoned me and said I done it wrong and basically it was my fault for not ordering before I fun out I explained had only just started she was then very very sarcastic!! I was not abusive not threatening just spoke with loud voice to be heard as it seemed she wasn’t listening to me I explained I needed these urgent. It would be nice if they started to listen to the patient meant to be a doctors surgery not a business

This practice seems to be run for the benefit of the staff not the patient. Trying to get an appointment is a joke. If it closed I don't think it would be missed.

Telephone receptionist recently made me feel anxious about my condition as was not listening to me and my experience prior to calling . Found her tone very brash sounding and rushing to speak / gave me no real calming time to explain .Only when I had to tell her in my own words how much pain I was in did she put me on hold /twice coming back with a harsh offer of an appointment in 14 days which was almost laughable as I needed urgent care / finally put on hold again and came back with one in 48 hrs . So felt relieved to finally be seen but the whole conversation was not nice and made me anxious which I didn’t want to add to my pain . They need to have a more sympathetic ear at times like especially personal care female to female/ need to listen .

My 70+ mother was 'diagnosed' with dementia, awaiting referral. Weeks later, and after contacting the DVLA to revoke her drivers licence, she has high blood pressure! After weeks of heartache following this, she was referred to the local gym but wasn't eligible as she was on medication for high blood pressure, which she is yet to be prescribed! 'Pee poor' is a very fair review for this practice. I appreciate the NHS is on its backside, but it's little wonder if it's doctors are overreacting like this and impacting an otherwise relatively healthy women. Generations of the family have been affected by this, along with the mental health and emotional wellbeing of my mother. Do not use Castle Place Practice if you value your health!

Phoned in morning and got an appointment with senior practitioner for that same day for a psoriasis breakout. Due to me not feeling good in myself due to bereavement, he gave me time, compassion, he listened and gave me sound advice. I left feeling that he really cared. Thank you.
