Review titled Excellent practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Very affable and helpful receptionist. I needed the practice to rectify an anomaly on my registration and the experience was exceptional. Didn’t take too much time for the problem to be resolved. The lady who assisted was so pleasant and made me feel welcome. Would highly recommend to family and friends.

Review titled Not effective system
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 19 October 2024
I’m disappointed with the current appointment system, which requires patients to call at 8 am to book an appointment. The lack of options for advance bookings or online scheduling is challenging for those of us with busy schedules. Waiting an average of 40 minutes to connect feels like a significant barrier to accessing necessary healthcare. Additionally, having to explain everything to the receptionist during triage is frustrating and undermines patient privacy. This system is not effective. I urge the practice to consider implementing more flexible and accessible appointment options.

This practice was not able to look after my Child. The practice nurse was not helpful. I was also aware that the Doctor was sent a photo of my childs condition. I had to remind the nurse that the discharge summary is available. The Nurse was not hellpful.

Review titled Unreliable appointment system
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 13 March 2024
The practice still uses the appointment system that was used in Covid ,which asks you to call at 8 am to book. You can’t book a health appointment for your self in advance , you can’t book online. You have to call at 8 am and wait for an average of 40 mins to get connected so you can book an appointment. This seems like system developed to repel anyone from taking care of their wellbeing. This can work for those who don’t work and have absolutely nothing to do. This is a dysfunctional system that is designed ti restrict access to health care and serving only a particular type of patients. No wonder people are going for private GP, probably this system is part of the whole privatisation shift.

Review titled The worst GP in the area due to its administration chaos
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 05 December 2023
The admin staff in this GP went from bad to worse since I joined the GP 10 years ago. Their luck of empathy , secretarial and people skills is very disappointing and gives the whole practice a very bad look . I try not to have to use the GP because dealing with the admin staff in order to get an appointment is so stressful that is deterring me. Every single time - including today where they hung up the phone on me is proof of the insensitiveness . I had done an online consultation she couldnt find it and could only book me a telephone appointment but i got a call 1hr later following up on my online consultation and the person i spoke had to idea i had a telephone consultation either . The degree of disarray and chaos is endless. Finally this surgery has to stop accepting new patients since it is clear they cannot handle the volume of patients they have already nor provide patients the standard level of care.

Review titled Administrative chaos
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by S Pepper - Posted on 02 November 2023
Today the practice managed to cancel my booking for '13.01pm' because nurse was sick, without sending an SMS update explaining a rescheduling for tomorrow. Then I was offered another appointment for this afternoon at 15.30pm with a different nurse. I then received a barrage of SMS updates with four separate times - 15.38, 15.53, 15.45 and finally 15.30. The four bookings led the nurse to believe I had asked for a family flu jab instead of a check-up. The coup de grace was my girlfriend's booking scheduled for 4pm being crossed off the list for no apparent reason. Another patient went in ahead of her. An hour went past, and then she was told by the desk of cancellation on returning to the reception area to enquire as to what was happening. Absolutely shambolic, and I have been with the surgery for 7 years and have come to expect the unexpected. This level of administrative chaos is certainly the worst I have witnessed, however.

Review titled Terrible
Rated 1 star out of 5

This is the worst GP I have had to deal with. I joined the GP 2 years ago and it has been a nightmare getting an appointment. The process of booking is ineffective as you will call and by the time it gets to your turn they will tell you that it's fully booked and ask you to call back tomorrow and that's how they will keep you treating you until you get mad. I just got off the phone trying to get an appointment for a referral for my 10 months old baby which I have been trying to secure since yesterday and still couldn't get booked. At this point I'm done dealing with this practice and have decided to leave

Review titled I decided to move to another practice after a week
Rated 1 star out of 5

As I am New to the area I decided to register with this GP. I have to say my experience with the nhs in general recently has been extremely poor however this surgery is the worst thing I have ever seen in my life. I have had a bacterial infection now for a while and no doctor seems to give me an antibiotic strong enough to cure it. In the middle of all of this I had to move so I contact my new surgery and try to see a doctor that might finally be able to help me. A urine sample was requested I did it, but when I went to hand it on a Monday morning the lady in reception said that there was not a form she could print. She literally wanted me to come back but I insisted I really needed this done so she finally does her job and prints the form, gives me the form and I put it in the bag I had no idea there was a sticker to the tube and no one bothered to tell me. I get a message a week later saying my test had no label so I had to repeat. I try to book an appointment and repeat the test they say I need to do the test first and then I can book an appointment if I want to (all I am trying to avoid is for doctor to give me an antibiotic that I have already done twice and that I know doesn't work). I stopped by Saturday morning to grab another test tube and asked for the form to make sure all is labelled. I asked the receptionist which labels goes where and this person not only did not know he also printed a form in a way where the labels are not right, so when I take the label off the paper half of the information stay on the paper, this stresses me out and I ask him for assistance but he just says he doesn't know and that all labels print like that. Even if I labelled the tube the info would not be there correctly. I just feel quite desperate that we have people behind a counter that do not want to be helpful, maybe the staff is overworked to the point they can't manage ? whatever is happening in this surgery it needs to be sorted. Thousands of people in this community deserve to be looked after properly and health care should not be a luxury. I even tried to call and there was 20 people in front of me ... even when there is only 3 you have to wait for almost an hour to speak to a person. I decided to register with another surgery because I am honestly scared for my health.

Review titled Impossible to get an appointment
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Michelle - Posted on 22 March 2023
I'm in need to book an appointment for something that could be quite serious but it proves impossible to get an appointment with the GP. There is a small window in the morning to call in for an appointment and the doctor may or may not call you back later that day to book something in. Personal appointments are not given often anymore. If you miss the call due to connection issues or something else that might happen as a result of technology, you have to call again, after which you often don't get called back at all. If you then call in again to ask for the phone call, they tell you once again to call back in the morning. I do not feel as though they care about my health and generally frustrated with this GP practice. Not nice to feel helpless when it comes to your health and will move to a different one who will hopefully provide better care for their patients.

Dear Michelle, I would like to apologise for your experience. We aim to facilitate and provide both pre-bookable and same-day appointments for patients who contact the surgery. When a patient requests a same-day appointment, we aim to provide this to patients who contact the surgery from 8 am on the day. We always strive to meet the needs of patients and have allocated telephone and face-to-face appointments for those patients who need to be seen on the same day. The demand for same-day appointments can vary from day to day and can have an impact on this availability on occasion. On this occasion, we may be unable to offer appointments to you. Our reception team are all trained care navigators and will ensure that some brief details are taken from patients to ensure that patients are supported as much as possible to be seen by the appropriate clinician. We have a varied team of health professionals to deal with patient needs as well as access to refer patients to community services such as pharmacies, for increased same-day access. We continually monitor and review patient demand to ensure that we have the right level of availability for patients to access our clinicians and to achieve effective and efficient patient flow. We have recently made changes to our appointment system to increase the number of same-day, vulnerable slots and pre-bookable appointments that are available and have recently recruited more GPs as well as clinical Pharmacists. This will ensure that we continue to meet the needs of all patients who access our services and can offer more pre-bookable and on-the-day appointments. Thank you for taking the time to raise your concerns. I hope this reassures you that we have taken your comments seriously. If you do have any questions or wish to discuss the matter in more detail, please contact the practice manager on 020 8534 8057 and we can arrange a convenient time and date to meet. Thank you Carpenters Practice - Practice Manager

Review titled Unavailable appointments. Long waiting times.
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Greta - Posted on 31 March 2023
After three days of fighting to reception,we finally got appointment for my son. Came in 10min early (as required) waited over half a hour over the appointment time. Spent 7min with doctor and waited another 20min or more for reception to sort out prescription. Children were exhausted of waiting and spending over the hour for 7min visit. Unbelievable and absolutely disappointed.
