Review titled Bad start but situation sorted easily
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 15 October 2024
I went for a B12 jab. When I was seen, I was told I was there for a blood test - incorrect. This was resolved by finding a nurse to give me my jab - the nurse was brilliant and made my subsequent 5 jab appointments over next 2 weeks quickly and easily

Review titled Positive experience
Rated 3 stars out of 5

I had a pre planned conversation on the phone with one of the pharmacists. She was absolutely delightful, patient, understanding and informative. She answered all my queries clearly and I felt I had plenty of time to discuss issues. She explained the next steps and follow up procedures. Unfortunately I am unable to name her but I wanted to say thank you.

Review titled Trying to book a phone appointment with a GP
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Ashley Bryant - Posted on 14 August 2024
I am a chartered engineer and chartered IT professional. It has been impossible to book a GP phone appointment. The health centre website is confusion, way too much information, no prioritisation of information. I have phoned the centre twice. I was told to call back the following morning at 08:00am. When I did, the option that I was given (4) was for carers. I am not a carer and only want a simple referral letter for chiropractic treatment, so that option did not work. I called again and was told I have to call at 13:00. I have done so and then been told by a voice recorded message that the phone system opens again at 13:30. All I want is a very, very simple request to be addressed. A very short conversation with a GP so that I can hopefully secure a referral letter for a chiropractor. I have already had one appointment because the pain was so intense, but will have to pay and cannot claim back on company healthcare insurance unless I have a referral letter. I hardly ever go to the doctors. The last time was a couple of years ago. As someone who does not use NHS services on a regular basis, the information provided and processes are so confusing as to make me give up. When I ask what I consider to be basic, simple questions to receptionists, I don't get a clear answer. Everything is skewed in favour of your receptionists. If I show the slightest level of frustration that I do not feel that I am being heard, that I do not understand how to use services (that will be cancelled on the 18th August) and don't know how to proceed, your telephone system introduction informs me that any frustration or the like is not acceptable. That puts the caller in a very, very difficult position. Firstly, it is unfair to think that they understand the system, (because if they use the system infrequently, they are likely to be people that take good care of themselves from a health perspective), when the system is complex, confusing and is unable to provide a very simple and clear process to book a doctor's appointment. I have now given up. I will not be contacting the surgery again. In business we use the phrase, Priortise, Focus, Win and Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance. I do not believe that your patient access processes are simple, easy to use nor stress free. Your receptions have too much power, are like robots in the answers that they give and are unable to answer any questions that are outside mainstream standard requests. This is not the way a national health service should operate. Please make the system simpler and accessible for those people that look after their health too and don't need frequent medical appointments.

I walked in with a item in my ear. Even though I had no appointment I was seen quickly and all was resolved.

Review titled Breathtakingly bad
Rated 1 star out of 5

Handling of repeat prescriptions has been irresponsible and dangerous. I've had long gaps in medications that I can't safely be off and I consistently have difficulties getting repeat medications prescribed. In the case of one medication, I've been rationing for over a month, have been taking half the dosage I should have been, have finally run out entirely, and the surgery are still refusing to prescribe. Extremely non-communicative with patients and internal communication seems very poor. On multiple occassions, I've had a request for a repeat prescription rejected without any communication that that has even happened, let alone the reason why. Please - I just want my meds so I can live my life :'(

Review titled Lack Of Information
Rated 3 stars out of 5

Have tried for many weeks to get an appointment. Lack of information on their website to find out what times appointments are available. A lot of information on their website, but is it relevant information?? Tried to ring the practice, but had to wait on the phone for so long!

Reception staff are friendly and welcoming. Didn't have to wait too long for my appointment. The nurse made me feel relaxed before administrating my vaccination.
