Review titled Nurse went above and beyond
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I came to have clips removed after an operation. There were a lot and the nurse was exceptionally kind and caring. And so was the receptionist who came to see how I was doing. Lovely people. Thank you!

Review titled Fail to provide suitable care
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 22 October 2024
My child is 4 years old and had an accident bumping his head at school. He had a deep cut on his forehead and teacher recommended us to consult General Practice as soon as possible to have a professional medical assessment. Teacher said as my son is so little, General Practice will definitely arrange an urgent appointment for him. So I picked up my child from school at 10:30 and went to the General Practice at around 11:00. I told the receptionist about my son’s situation and request an urgent appointment or assessment, however the receptionist didn’t really care and said there is only 1 nurse appointment at 17:45. I asked if they can offer a quick assessment as the wound is still bleeding, so that I know if we need to a&e, but obviously the receptionist didn’t care about my child’s condition and said the nurse is busy. I filed an online request for an urgent appointment immediately after receiving the call from school, but the doctor just called me back at 18:00, and said in such case you should go to A&e to have urgent care, but when we were at the clinic, my child just received no care and nobody suggest us to go to A&e. I am very disappointed about the experience.

Review titled Absolutely shocking
Rated 1 star out of 5

Impossible to book an appointment. New form is long and idiotic. I always go private anyway but this is just a routine check and it’s impossible to book without having to answer a series of questions clearly designed by inept, ignorant managers to make you go away and not booking an appointment . Avoid and pay for a proper doctor in Harley Street.

Review titled Empty surgery but no appointments
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Henry Page - Posted on 14 March 2024
I went into the surgery this morning to complain about a friend of mine who had sort help there with a very sore throat, possibly tonsillitis. He had registered for a triage phone call but had not yet been contacted. Given the pain he was experiencing I suggested he went straight down to the practice to make an appointment. They refused telling him wait for the triage appointment then you can come to an appointment. All this for a sore throat? I have just had a serious operation and incapacitated but nevertheless I went to down to Burney St Practice with him to ask why they couldn't just make an appointment. I didn't shout I wasn't rude but I was exasperated and having to get out of a bed that specialist had told me I had to stay in simply to come down there to tell them they should be doing their job. That got me nowhere. Two medically untrained people trying to tell me that he would be triaged ... eventually. While I was there a nurse came out of one of the rooms and called out a name but there was nobody in the waiting room at all there is not one patient in the building. Isn't it right that we should ask ourselves how much we are paying for a resource like that which can be empty at 8 o'clock in the morning when the pharmacy down the road that my friend has gone to is full of patience asking to be seen about ailments that they have got. This is what you get under a Tory government. Useless public services mainly privatised to group practice conglomerates in order to maximize profits and minimise effort. Natalie disgraceful ... don't use them.

Review titled Normally had no problems
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Deborah Arif - Posted on 08 June 2023
I tried booking online this morning by econsul it read it wasn’t accepting online requests. My partner has been unwell since Tues he fainted he has diabetes & been feeling dizzy. I telephoned Burney st the recording said I was 9th in line after 1hr 56 mins I was no 1 in line it then got to 2hrs & then it just went to an engaged tone. I have never experienced this before. I called back chose a different option that was a nurse or specialist I was 11th in line. I gave up & am now waiting for the diabetic clinic to return my call All the staff are so kind & caring I just don’t get why the telephone system is so hard to get through.

Review titled This is a great practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 08 March 2023
These are difficult times but the Burney Street Practice are doing a really good job. They have given my elderly mother great care and advice. She is seen promptly by the Dr and given that extra time to explain all her worries and questions, that sadly she needs these days. I use the EConsult system and I have found that when I do so I receive a response pretty quickly and if needs be am seen in person by the Dr. I have found the staff to be patient and kind.

When you finally get through to someone they are confrontational, not interested what is best for patient, they say we have done what we are required to and get stroppy if you say this has not resolved the situation they say will pass on to the appropriate person that’s it you never hear anymore .

Review titled Good Receptionist
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Deborah Newson - Posted on 06 January 2023
Visited the surgery today and was happy to receive a friendly and helpful service from the receptionist, who was lovely. All they need now, is to give telephone appointments with an actual time-slot, and it will be back to pre-covid standards.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a complimentary review. I will share this with the reception team who I know will be thrilled with your comment. Unfortunately the reason we do not give patients an actual time-slot for their telephone consultation is because it is very hard to judge how long each call will take, some consultations will take significantly longer than others depending upon medical need, this would then mean that patients were waiting by their telephones at a particular time and our clinician would be unable to call at that time. I am however pleased that you are happy with the service generally. Best wishes Tracy Crossfield Practice Manager
