  1. Review titled Dreadful

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 April 2023

Myself and my whole family have been with this practices for multiple decades but are all now looking at going else where because of how ridiculous it is here. You call at 8am to try and get through and that’s a joke in it’s self by the time you get through it’s 10am and there’s no appointments and I’m not talking about trying 1 or 2 times I’m talking constantly pressing call. How are patients supposed to get help and appointments when your phone lines have no capability of answering calls? My friend has a brain condition, had a seizure ended up in a&e was advised by the a&e doctor to get an appointment with her doctor the following day and all they said when she called was were having a half day call back tomorrow??? The online appointments might as well not exist because they’re all for 3 weeks time. When you eventually do get an appointment it’s a phone call where the doctor is either great or doesn’t know what’s wrong with you so does nothing at all which I have experienced. Very rarely you actually manage to go into the practise. It’s just honestly getting ridiculous now and if I’m honest I can’t wait to get into a new doctors.

  3. Review titled Outstanding practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Lorraine Nunn - Posted on 06 April 2023

This practice is exemplary, from the receptionists who have always been caring, helpful and polite, to the nursing staff and Drs who I have to say have been wonderful, nothing has ever been too much trouble, they have always had time for me and their caring and professional conduct has been faultless, treating me with dignity and respect. Would highly recommend this surgery.

  5. Review titled No support whatsoever for mental health, dangerous

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 March 2023

After being prescribed antidepressants 9 months ago, I foolishly thought I was under the care of a doctor for depression. They literally could not care less about the pills they prescribed leaving it to me to decide if I continue taking them, if I want to up the dose, do what ever, they do not care. Feeling in a very bad place I have tried for weeks to speak with a doctor and when I finally got one he told me they do not offer support for mental health. All they do is signpost. I may as well come off the tablets, but expect horrendous side effects, much like when we gave them to you. Disgusting. Worse than useless.

  6. Review titled Wonderful care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 March 2023

Having been a patient here for 44 years and that in recent years my need for care has increased, I can’t recommend the surgery any higher. There are issues getting through on the phone but the staff that look after me are wonderful. I have been under the nursing team for treatment for 8 months now and they go above and beyond to help me. My GP is kind, caring and compassionate as well as extremely competent at her job and I feel safe and well looked after. The reception staff I see twice a week are always friendly and greet me with a smile and are always helpful. I couldn’t ask for better care. Thank you Burlington team, I appreciate everything you do for me.

  7. Review titled They treat me like I’m an inconvenience

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 March 2023

People complain about the amount of time you have to call to get through but that’s nothing compared to a referral which they promised me was made 6 months ago. At the time there was a 12 months waiting list. I call to chase it up and it wasn’t done and now the waiting list is 2 years!!! I called on a Friday and was told to wait until after 4pm to get my antibiotics from my pharmacy. It wasn’t done. Monday I was told the guy I spoke to forgot to send it! Finally got them Tuesday And this is all on top of redialling between 80-100 times to get a telephone appointment. Also caught the receptionists laughing about me twice, thinking they had me on hold! Lovely!!! Honestly no one here wants to help me so I will have to find another surgery I guess Iv been here for over 10 years and I can’t take any more

  8. Review titled Great support for long-term condition

Rated 5 stars out of 5

    by A.T. - Posted on 16 December 2022

I have a long-term condition (cancer). The many side-effects of my on-going chemotherapy had, over a relatively short time, radically changed my capabilities and outlook. Thanks to the perception of the brilliant nurses - who realised I might benefit from talking to a social prescriber - I was put in touch with the practice's Health & Wellbeing Coach who has been wonderful both with practical advice and suggestions and also through mental health support. She has helped me to get through the hard times, see the positives, feel better about myself and even plan nice things to look forward to in my 'good' periods. Thanks to all at Burlington PCT who have gone that extra mile to help and support me at a particularly difficult time, I really appreciate it.

  9. Review titled No appointments

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 30 November 2022

It is next to impossible to get an appointment at this GP practice. They start the appointments system at 8am and only mode of booking an appointment is the telephone. But, you keep calling and almost every time you would hear a busy tone. I never got an appointment with this GP practice in the past 2 years, and rather had to call 111 when I needed a GP consultation for me or my family. And it's not that I give up after 1 or 2 attempts. There are literally 50+ calls on my phone log, as you need to keep calling, hear a busy tone, call again, and this goes on. When you get connected after 20-30 minutes, the staff will tell you that no appointments are left, which I am sure that is true. What's the point of having registered with a GP practice if you can't get a GP appointment when needed? They need to do something, rather than working like a lottery system ...!

Dear Patient I am so sorry that you experiencing difficulty accessing our services. We are aware that due to extremely high number of calls we are receiving this is on occasion giving the engaged tone. To help with this going forward we are reviewing alternative cloud based telephone systems that will enable us to offer a call back service so that patients do not received the engaged tone but also have the opportunity to receive a call back service. Additionally we have reviewed our telephone traffic to see what services can be dealt with differently and more simply for patients, preventing the need for a telephone enquiry. Kind regards Sharon Meers (Practice Manager)

  10. Review titled An embarrassment to the medical profession

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 October 2022

Over a period of two years I was continually prescribed the wrong medication, at the wrong dosage, for the wrong duration. The last straw was them sending my prescription to a pharmacy over a hundred miles away - something which was incredibly difficult to sort when the surgery would repeatedly hang up for even answering.
