Review titled No good with mental health!

Please avoid this surgery if you have mental health issues. When my husband and I moved to Loughborough we were recommended to them as he suffers from severe mental health issues and ADHD and needs a consistent doctor who's patient and supportive. He had such a traumatic experience with one of the doctors who belittled him and told him 'the NHS are on their knees and there's no money' that we decided to move to another practice. The experience left him worried and anxious for days afterwards as he felt like a burden (a reason why he struggles with his MH). He was asked if he self-harmed and when he said no they told him there was no help available, his own words after hearing this was 'maybe if i was hurting myself then they would help me.' The doctor in question is one who prides herself on her mental health and wellbeing skills and community 'wellbeing'. Not in her appointments though... I work in mental health as a professional myself, and was appalled that this is what is happening in GP appointments. We recommend everyone who is struggling with their MH books an appointment with their GP, this feedback from my own family member makes me not want to do this. He filled in a post appointment questionnaire and never heard back either (so they don't care). Avoid.

Very efficient, friendly staff and always willing to help. I have been a patient for many years and always received exceptional care. Would reccomend to friends and family

I have been with the practice for 30 years plus the practice was a very good one me and all my family are treated here. Just lately I have been having health problems and I need to talk to my doctor unfortunately this is near on impossible. You have to ring in the morning to get an appointment for that day this can take from 40 minutes to 1 hour to get through to the receptionist. Unfortunately when you reach them they tell you all the appointments are gone for the day and they are not able to make pre-bookable appointments. So you have to go through this rigmarole all again, the next day unfortunately for people that work shifts like myself very difficult especially when you have to ring at 8 o’clock in the morning and you’ve just come off a nightshift. I have done this a few times in the last few months and only managed to speak with a doctor a couple time when you finally get a appointment with a doctor you are waiting by the phone for them to ring you back all day. Doctors are supposed to be there to help people with problems and be caring for people, unfortunately this practice at the moment is neither. The receptionist I spoke to yesterday was friendly She explained that they was closed in the afternoon for training so there was no appointments left the receptionist I spoke to today was sharp and rude as she obviously didn’t didn’t care about anything. If a doctor is closing on a afternoon for training why haven’t they put extra staff on? why are they not staggering the training this is not a good this is not good practice. At this present time I am going to move practices so I’m on the lookout for a new doctors hopefully not as bad fingers crossed.

Used to be a very good practice 20 years ago but actually getting to see a doctor is extremely difficult. There appears to be very little preventative medicine. So frustrated we've just changed to Pinfold Gate who seem very good.
