Review titled A Very Good Service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 04 August 2024
I was referred to Bracknell Urgent Care Centre by 111 early on a Saturday morning, after spraining my foot the evening before. Everyone I spoke to, receptionist, triage nurse, x-ray personnel, were polite and helpful. I felt that I was seen with the minimum of delay. The triage nurse then took me through the x-ray results, taking as much time as I wanted. I have never used the service before and I would highly recommend it. The building was easy to find and the fact that the parking was free is one less thing to worry about if you are transporting someone who will usually be in pain. Thank you to all involved.

Review titled Very disappointed
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Jayne Parker - Posted on 13 August 2024
Seen very briefly with minimal examination of injury and advised only to rest injured hand despite me pointing out possible fracture or infection due to laceration. I asked if an X-ray would be needed and was told that ‘an X-ray would not show up an infection’ which was patronising. No X-ray was ordered. I later had a consultation with a paramedic practitioner from my doctors surgery and was referred for an X-ray of my right hand which diagnosed a displaced fracture of the mid section of the second metatarsal and have now been referred to the fracture clinic for treatment. Also, the person who examined my hand at the Bracknell centre did not introduce himself or disclose his qualifications.

Review titled Staff Attitude
Rated 2 stars out of 5

I spoken to my GP surgery to get an appointment but they given me at Brant Bridge. I have chest infection need to be check and my blood pressure need to be review. I went there and receptionist check me in.The advance clinical practitioner called my name without saying "hi" or "hello" she pointed me to sat on the chair and she introduce her name (luckily). She asked what was my problem I said I phoned my GP surgery and bring me here to check because of two issues. I am not finishing talking yet, she said to me we are not discussing two issues, we need only one.The way she talked to me, she is not approachable. She checked my chest and ausculate and checked my vital signs.I said to here look my BP is not normal it is high for that is why I am here as well. She said it is normal, I said "No" because I am a medical staff as well, I am not here if I am Not alright. She said to me she is not reviewing it should be the GP. It seems my day has been wasted that day. I suggest f she can request a blood to check, she said she is not doing that..Probably, she has limitation in her role, but the point is she must be approachable to all the patients.I cannot imagine how she treated other patient without medical background....

Review titled Amazing care provided
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I attended the clinic with a breast lump as I was struggling to get a more urgent appointment with my GP surgery and I was concerned about the risks of waiting. The nurse practitioner was absolutely amazing. Both she and a GP examined me, and she actually called my surgery to make sure they urgently saw me the following day for a 2 week referral. I have subsequently been diagnosed with breast cancer and will soon be starting treatment. Obviously I shouldn't have had to go to urgent care in the first place, but I absolutely cannot fault the staff at the clinic. I am profoundly grateful for the way the nurse practitioner in particular went above and beyond to take care of me and advocate for me.

Review titled Great clinicians but practice service not great
Rated 4 stars out of 5

I visited the Centre for the first time for an injury. I arrived 19:30 after work as I was aware the practice was open until 20:00. I was turned away as they informed me they were closing early as it was quiet and said I would need an X-ray and the X-ray department is not open. They told me to return 8am the next morning for an X-ray. I informed my work that I was going to need an X-ray so would need to take time out of my work hours and turned up to the practice as advised the next morning. I waiting about 45 minutes which was fine and expected. I was seen by the clinician who was lovely and examined me. She luckily said it was muscle damage so an X-ray will not be required. This was of course good news but this could have be dealt with when I was there the evening before. I don’t think as a medical practice it should be closing early due to it being quiet as patients rely on the opening hours provided to know when to attend. I feel 30mins was plenty of time to have been seen and examined. A single clinician could have seen 3 patients within that time. As a whole I was very happy with my experience with the clinician however not happy with the Centre's decision to close up early as and when they think it is quiet

Review titled Excellent care and service
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Maria Harrington - Posted on 27 March 2024
We presented at Brants Bridge on 14 March 2024 with a minor injury for my husband. He had deeply cut his finger. The service we received from the staff was exemplary and caring. Luckily no major damage was done. We cannot thank them all enough and we were overly impressed as this was our first visit. A very well run centre.

After suffering a very frightening episode of dizziness and compromised mobility as a result I phoned 111 a helpful doctor called back and booked an appointment at Brants Bridge. Seen on time by very kind and personable Doctor. She provided reassurance to me on a number of fronts. Still wobbly today but her advice and intervention was greatly appreciated. Thank you
