Review titled Caring and responsive
Rated 5 stars out of 5

I've always had amazing service at this fantastic practice - everything me and my husband have discussed with the doctors has been taken seriously and listened to, and acted upon. Technology has been adopted positively to enhance the experience as a patient and they are always improving. Receiving a phonecall about my results at 8.30 pm on a Friday to make sure I wasn't worried while I was away overseas for work is above an beyond. Can't reccomend enough.

Review titled A really great practice

Bodmin have been nothing but good to me. I've been with the practice for just over a year and have spent my pregnancy with them. Every time I have used askmygp for an appointment either for myself or baby, I have had same day contact which I am extremely grateful for. I like that you can request for a specific doctor or any doctor which I think helps a lot with getting in within a few hours of requesting. All the doctors and nurses I've had aswell have just been so lovely and really care to get you what you need.

Review titled Disgusting telephone service
Rated 1 star out of 5

I called the surgery regarding making an appointment for some results. The woman I spoke to on the phone was so, so rude. As I didn't have access to 'My GP' at that time, she was going to delete my email address. She spoke to me like I was stupid and made out she was doing me a favour booking my appointment because I was unable to do it online at that time. I have never ever been spoken to like that in my whole life. Absolutely disgusting.

I had a hysterectomy last week and thought I had a water infection. I rang Bodmin they didn't have an appointment but asked me to drop a sample off. Within a hour the doctor contacted me with the results and prescribed me antibiotics to be picked up in half an hour. Very efficient Thank you

Review titled Excellent Doctors and Nurses but…….
Rated 4 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 20 October 2023
I have every confidence in both the Doctors and Nursing staff who I always find are extremely competent, courteous and professional. However it’s disappointing that the reception staff have no apparent customer service skills and at times are quite discourteous. It is also a real concern that when the receptionists speak to patients at the reception desk they have little regard when asking personal/confidential questions that can be clearly heard throughout the waiting area which is totally unprofessional and embarrassing.

Review titled Never managed to see a doctor
Rated 2 stars out of 5

The "Ask My GP" booking system is an absolute farce, no other way to book an appointment, explained to the reception staff that I have been trying for seven days to book one, to be told to get up earlier and try at 8.00am. System crashed 3 times at 8.00am and then by 7 minutes past, no appointments available. Told to try NHS111, gave up after being on hold for just under an hour. Why can't you just simply phone and make an appointment for a few days ahead??

Ask My GP good & convenient but closes too early!Doctors always excellent .Reception staff ( one in particular) need retraining.Being busy ( we all understand this)is no excuse for rudeness- especially to elderly patients!

Review titled Deteriorated beyond recognition
Rated 1 star out of 5

I am forced to look for a new practice that doesn't use a Ask my GP. The system closes too early. Telephone assessment is no good for someone with anxiety. No chance to book appointments in the future. For example a telephone appointment recently resulted in a review appointment needed in two months time. You cannot book that appointment. Have to be up for 8 o'clock to get an on the day appointment. Not easy for someone working late. Never get the same GP so no continuity of care. Used to be a friendly efficient surgery. Now just feels so difficult to access.

Review titled Can't fault the Doctors but...
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 09 January 2023
Ive been a patient here for approx 8 years along with my daughter and husband. I cannot fault any of the Doctors or Nursing staff at all. We a can always get an appointment and the My GP app works very well for us. The reception area is not accessible to all. The desk is ridiculously high and the lowered section (meant for wheelchair users and alike) is blocked off with leaflets and equipment. I am 5 foot 2 and have limited hearing in both ears so often need to see people's mouths when they talk, its virtually impossible here given the height of the desk. The times I have moved to the lowered section to improve my view of the receptionist they barely even turn their heads. I dread having to go into the practice - it often turns into an embarrasing situation for a grown adult having to stand on tip toes to see and constantly having to say, Im afraid i cant hear or see what you are saying. The reception staff really let this practice down, they really need to improve their customer service skills. The practice manager would do well to consult a disabled access specialist or read Bs8300.
