    I gave Blandford pharmacy a ring this morning on October 28th, and the pharmacist i spoke to couldn't have been more kinder to me explaining about my medication, so, this deserves a massive thank you to Blandford pharmacy, and I also wish to say a massive thank you to Blandford in general for their patience and understanding with me, as my life is more settled now than it once was, so once again, thank you all so much at Blandford, for your understanding and patience and also kindness to me, as I thoroughly recommend Blandford medical centre.

    I am someone that is lucky enough to very rarely need to use the doctors. But today I did, I can't believe the hassle just to try to get an appointment. Called the doctors to be told I have to go through Patchs the online consultation service. So I had to log on and start the interaction with an online form, what has happened to actually speaking to people. I put in my symptoms, got asked several questions that were irrelevant, had a reply to say when am I contactable, I put a time I would be available after work from 5pm. So I was expecting a call after that time. A few minutes later I recieved a text to say an appointment had been booked, unfortunately I can't make that time as I have another appointment scheduled that clashes with the appointment given. I called the doctors to ask if I can change the time to which I was told by a unhelpful and miserable receptionist, I would have to start the whole Patchs triage process again tomorrow morning as they can't rearrange an appointment time and I should've made a note on Patchs to state I couldn't make that appointment date or time. Obviously I needed to be a mind reader that they were going to offer an appointment and on that date and time. Patchs only asked what time I was contactable so I presumed I'd get a call. So I now have to take up another Patchs slot tomorrow which is taking it away from someone else that may need it, just so I can try to re arrange the time of an appointment I have already been given. This is a complete waste of resource that could help someone else, when I just need to rearrange a date or time, when Patchs have already made the decision that I need to see a doctor. Every interaction I have ever had with this practice has been nothing but hassle, I'm just lucky its been very few occasions I have needed to use this GP surgery. No wonder people's health is at risk and illnesses are left undiagnosed when it's a complete mission to try to see or speak to a doctor. I know the Nhs do an amazing job but please make it easier for patients to have access to see or speak to a doctor.

    Dear Gemma, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry that you have struggled with the PATCHs system, please note that all practices engage with an online triage service now. This ensures patients are booked in appropriately based on clinical need and not just a first come first served basis. This way we can ensure that we have sufficient urgent appointments for patient need. We do ask relevant questions for this process that are important for us to assess your requirements. We will ask when you are free and endeavour to support your request but if you symptoms suggest that you should be seen sooner then we will offer you an appointment regardless of this as we will not delay care that is needed. I agree that once you have been triaged if you choose to decline the appointment offered then reception should attempt to re-book, there would be little need for you to submit a duplicate request the following day. I will ensure reception are all aware of this in future. Since the introduction of PATCHS we have had excellent feedback and compliments regarding the service as patients know that they will have a prompt response from the clinician regarding on going care. I am sorry that you are unhappy with this service but it is a contractual requirement that we provide a triage service to ensure safe and timely booking for each patient.     The Nurse I saw is simply a superb Nurse, nothing is too much trouble, she is friendly, efficient and kind. I would choose to see her every time if I had the option.

    I had an appointment today and was greeted by two smiling, helpful receptionists. I then had my appointment which was on time and met a wonderful health care assistant , who went above and beyond. She was knowledge, friendly and put me at ease with the patient being at the centre of care. Exactly what the NHS should represent. Well done Blandford.

    The pharmacist went through all of my medication and asked me to take my blood pressure daily, up date the consultant appointment for a follow up.

    Very helpful pharmacist who always rings when arranged and is genuinely caring. She has gone through all my medication and does what ever she can to help. I have only spoken to the pharmacist, I wouldn’t even bother trying to get a doctors appointment unless I thought it was something very serious .

    I could not order my repeat prescription via the NHS App in spite of insistent reminders from Pharmacy2U. First the Doctor’s receptionist listened patiently to my concern. Laughed along with me and directed me to the in-house pharmacy. Second Pharmacy staff listened to my explanation, explained concisely and clearly why the issue had occurred and without prompting, what they personally would do to remedy the situation. This was on a Thursday afternoon. My repeat prescription was reviewed and reinstated within hours and the drugs delivered via Pharmacy2U on Saturday morning. Both the staff members at the Practice behaved professionally but with well judged humour. I enjoyed an experience I had been dreading. The difficulties I might have imagined dissolved completely in the face of a determined “can-do-will-do” attitude from two members of staff who I imagine work under extraordinary pressure for most of their working day. I cannot praise them highly enough.
