    At a bloods appointment and informing them how I was feeling (which is not too good) I received a call the following day to say there is something wrong. This has resulted is yet again another repeat blood test. This happens every time yet nothing is getting done to solve the issue. They have booked me in for a phone call with the nurse in 3 weeks time. I mean, a phone call. I'm disgusted with this practice

    I have seen this doctor twice, and both experiences have been highly disappointing. It feels as though he is more focused on rushing through appointments rather than genuinely listening to and addressing patient concerns. Each time I tried to explain my symptoms and worries, I was abruptly cut off. The doctor seemed uninterested in hearing my full account, quickly dismissing my concerns with his own conclusions without giving me a chance to fully express myself. Instead of taking the time to understand my situation, he appeared intent on getting me out of the office as quickly as possible. This left me with the same doubts and confusion I had when I arrived, with no real answers or sense of direction for my care. On both occasions, I felt like my concerns were minimized and that I was not being taken seriously as a patient. Moreover, the doctor consistently failed to consider my input or explore the options I requested. He seemed more concerned with pushing his own agenda rather than collaborating with me on a treatment plan. As a result, I left each appointment feeling frustrated, unheard, and unsure about my health. Overall, I cannot recommend this doctor to anyone seeking a thorough, considerate, and patient-centered approach to healthcare.

    We moved to this practice in April 2024 and honestly it was the best decision ever. Whole team friendly and professional . Had appointments with 5 different members of team (for myself and my son) all knew exactly what the appointment was for, longest wait was 10 minutes late but was explained why on arrival Keep doing what you’re doing well

    Both my daughters unexpectedly needed a GP appointment the day after each other. I was sent a link to request an appointment at 8am. I just wanted to say what an improvement this has been to trying to get through by telephone. On both occasions I received a callback within 5 minutes of me completing the online form. On both occasions the receptionist that called (sorry didn’t get her/their name) was friendly and helpful. I was given an appointment the same day, seen without any delay and treatment given to help my daughters. The Dr we saw is also one of the loveliest Dr’s we’ve ever had. GP’s get lots of negative feedback so I just wanted to share how pleased I have been with the service 2 days in a row. Thank you :)

    Despite trying to get access to my patient records for months now the surgery is still is inhibiting my access to blood test results and other information. The surgery is now part of the problem and not part of the solution with regard to managing my diabetes.

    Hospital consultant wrote to my G.P. surgery requesting an addition to my repeat prescriptions. From past experience I knew that I couldn’t rely on B H F to fulfil the request competently. As usual, the phones are mostly ignored so I was forced to contact by the NHS app messaging. I asked again for the item to be added to the list, and again, from experience, I asked for acknowledgment of the message. 48 hours so far with no acknowledgment and the list not updated. Meaning, more futile attempts to contact B H F Lundwood and ultimately more visits to the pharmacy for prescriptions that could be collected together. This poor performance isn’t a new thing. No respect whatsoever for the patient. How hard can it be to do one’s job? Everyone else in the world manages. Please feel free to tell us all “how busy staff are”…”phone lines busy at certain times”… we’ve heard it ad nauseam. I’ve also noticed a notable absence of reviews since new criteria was put in place to weed out unfavourable reporting. This is your business model?

    I had bloods taken and they left a massive bruise she said she was fully trained didn’t know what she was doing and looking at both my arms after wow I was left with lumps on my arms still not gone down after a week

    I despair of the poor service we get at this GP surgery. The staff mostly don't seem helpful, in fact the staff are continually changing. There are only Locum doctors so it's anybodys guess who you speak to medical wise. Nobody answers the telephone. I called 24 times last week before I spoke to someone. Today I finally spoke to a helpful lady after dialling 21 times. Do you only employ people with hearing difficulties or do they turn the ringtone off?

I am sorry to hear of the concerns you have raised regarding the staff members attitude and not being able to contact the practice by telephone. I can confirm that our staff members at BHF Lundwood do try to offer the best patient care and answer the telephone as soon as possible, we do however have high patient demand for appointments, as do all practices and there are times when the telephone line is busier than others meaning that other patients can’t get through. We do try our best to speak with patients as soon as possible and have ample staff members answering the telephone, we do however have to ensure there is someone on reception dealing with patient queries who are in practice and marking patients as arrived. Regarding locum GPs, we have now recruited a regular GP at BHF Lundwood which should give patients some consistency, we do understand that seeing locum GPs is not always beneficial and therefore we are always trying to recruit permeant GPs. I would like to provide you reassurance that all feedback is taken seriously and enables us to learn and improve patient experience therefore I appreciate you bring this to our attention and can confirm that this will be discussed with staff members at BHF Lundwood to see if we can make any improvements to our telephone system.     Needed to cancel my appointment today due to not needing this Anymore so I’ve been phoning every hour since 11 to try and get through and it’s just been ringing and ringing or cutting me off, then as soon as it reached my appointment time I get a text saying next time cancel as the appointment could have been used for someone else, well how do you do this if know-one answers the phones to allow you to cancel throughout the day it’s so fustrating.

    Today I have tried to ring doctors several times as I'm unwell. It has taken me 40 minutes to get through after the line either being engaged or cutting me off. It is the same every time I have to ring the surgery. And when I do finally get through there are no appointments left. Please employ more people to answer the phone then us patients wouldn't have to spend ages, trying to get through. It's not just myself that has this problem other people do too when they require an appointment. Something needs to be done about this.

I can confirm that our staff members at BHF Lundwood do strive to offer the best care to patients possible and apologise if you feel your experience at practice was not like this. Our staff members at BHF Lundwood do answer the telephone, we do however have high patient demand for appointments, as do all practices and there are times when the telephone line is busier than others. This is normally when the telephone lines first open as all patients are in the same position of ringing to try and get an appointment, this is the same at all GP practices. We do try our best to speak with patients as possible and have ample staff members answering the telephone, we do however have to ensure there is someone on reception dealing with patient queries who are in practice and marking patients as arrived. Appointments can also be booked online on the following link: https://www.lundwoodsurgery.nhs.uk/services/book-an-appointment/ we are contractually obliged to offer appointments online as well as via the telephone. I would like to provide you reassurance that we are attempting to meet patient demand for appointments as much as possible with additional clinical staff having been employed at practices to improve appointment availability.
