Review titled Great practice serving the local community
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 16 November 2022
Bermondsey Spa is a great practice where the staff are a credit to their profession. They are working hard to serve the community. I felt listened, respected and cared for. The advice was supportive and I was able to book an appointment when I needed one. They are clearly very busy but I know that the practice is doing all that it can to maintain the health of those in the local area.

I had a terrific experience today at Bermondsey spa. The doctor I saw was incredibly patient, understanding and I really felt listened to. The reception staff was very helpful and I was seen within 10 x minutes of my allocated time. Couldn't recommend enough

Review titled Cant get appointment with GP
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 12 December 2022
I rang and was informed. There are no appointments available for the GP and even the January slots have not been opened up yet. Things are getting worse. When phone for same day just get told all appointments have gone. Previously completed the online form and then got a text to ring surgery. When did got told its not an emergency so cant speak to the doctor. Waits are a month or more for a phone call from GP. I have several health issues. The support just isnt there anymore. We should be able to speak to the doctor without having to jump through hoops to get there. Regardless of the health issue. We are humans not robots although treated like it these days...

Dear Patient I am sorry that you felt the need to make this comment about the quality of service/ care you have received from the Practice. I understand that you find it totally unacceptable as to how appointments are being managed. It is a difficult balance to meet the need for requested appointments in order or urgency. General practice is under increase pressure to provide appointments in an ever-increase demand verses a decrease in capacity. Telephonist need to have a certain level of control and knowledge in order to sign post patients to the most appropriate clinician. Please see below excerpt, The PMA has various articles regarding calls taken by non- clinical staff at GP Surgeries: “Receptionists telephone Triaging is an essential patient engagement technique that will further develop the skills and career paths of non-clinical staff – frontline GP practice staff and Care Home staff, who will move away from a passive role and have a more direct impact on patient health outcomes. These skills and abilities are needed to undertake telephone triage and are necessary for signposting patients and are extremely valuable” I can assure you that the GP partners take your health, and indeed, the health of all patients seriously. The management team would be happy to discuss this further with you, however, this is difficult as you have chosen to remain anonymous. Please contact the surgery and asked to speak to me. Review titled Careless practice

I was booked on the telephone triage list for the bone therapy but didn't receive any phone call. I was so counting on it. Fighting the pain, I grit my teeth. Very unprofessional, very disappointing.

Dear Patient. I am sorry that you had such a negative experience while using our service. I am afraid that as, you have chosen to remain anonymous, we cannot look into your concern. I am also not sure if you have the correct surgery as you mentioned "bone therapy" perhaps this is for the community based MSK service that is based in the same building. Please contact the surgery and ask to speak to a member of the practice management team so we can look into this matter. Thank You.
