    This practice has an online system for repeat prescriptions which works very well in general. However, certain items cannot be ordered online and you have to attend the surgery and put a piece of paper in a box instead. Firstly, there is no logic whatsoever to this system - you are the same person requesting the same drug be it on a piece of paper or online. Secondly it makes things unecessarily difficult for the elderly and disabled.

    Having been forced to move to a new home just 3 streets away I was told by the GP practice I must search for a new surgery as they did not cover the area I had moved to. I explained I was with the same surgery since the practice opened and prior to the practice changing hands which is over 35 years. I also explained I live alone with no family and recently suffered with unexpected blindness 3 years ago therefore could not change surgery and nor did I want to simply because I found the familiarity easier to deal with having lost my sight. Today they told me the GP practice will not send my prescription to the pharmacy and that I must collect all prescriptions in person! I told them again I was blind and this was cruel and unnecessary yet they continued to maintain that I should leave the practice.

I would like to confirm that many of the issues that you have raised here were resolved yesterday, unfortunately we cannot discuss this in more detail on such a public platform. It is the practices policy to advise all patients who move out of the area (we make concessions for those who are just outside the boundary, in your case we are unable to do this due to the extended distance from the boundary). However, I am pleased that you have chosen to remain registered as an ‘Out of Area Patient’.   3. Review titled Don't honour appointments

    I had a telephone appointment booked with the nurse last Thursday; I waited at home all day and never received a call. My wife had an appointment today and also never received a call. The surgery has both our mobile and landline numbers. It seems they try once, and if you have a bad mobile signal at home and don't get the call, they never bother calling again or on your landline. Very bad business practice, unprofessional!
