They've cancelled my appointment less than an hour before I was supposed to attend. Instead of calling me and giving me option to rearrange, they've send a text message to ring their reception. After waiting on the line for a long time and finally speaking to somebody, I was told there's no appointment for me for next 2 weeks!! And I couldn't even book it for then, I need to ring again apparently. Also, this is not the first time this happened to me. I give up now and hope my problem just goes away, because I definitely won't get any help here.

Dear LK, I am sorry you have felt you need to rate us so low on various media sites following our contact with you yesterday. We had very short notice of a GP being unwell and unable to work and had to contact many patients to rearrange appointments. We understand that you were offered another appointment when you spoke to the receptionist but you declined to take what we could offer. We apologised if we were causing any inconvenience by having to ask you to rebook and it is not something we like to have to do.

It is really difficult getting an appointment and the doctors are quite unhelpful and seem unskilled. The appointment system is awful, where you can get a same day appointment for a cold but when a newborn baby has feeding issues they are happy to leave you to wait four days. I am moving to a different doctor.

I have been trying for months to get through on the phone. I walked in to reception to book an appointment but they could offer me a time. Cervical smears are important to have access to, even though I have received a letter to book a test, it has proven to be impossible to get through/ book an appointment. It has been over a month now and I haven’t yet managed to get through on the phone. I’m surprised it says on here “ accepting new patients” when they can’t seem to respond to existing patients. Disgusted in the surgery’s customer service. Are there any doctors working at the surgery?

Dear Patient, I am sorry you have had a hard time booking an appt for cervical screening. I have checked our system this morning and we have a selection of over 60 different times and days available currently for this type of request. These appts are all available to book online if you have had difficulty with phones. If you prefer to telephone, our care navigators are here until 6.30pm each day, perhaps try calling in the afternoon when you want to book a non-urgent appt as we are less busy on the phones then. Cervical screening appointments are provided by our nurses as this frees up time for the GPs to see more complex conditions.
