Review titled Horrible
Rated 1 star out of 5

They have a very horrible reception service. They pretended to have signal issue to hang up your call after waiting for 30 minutes to book appointments. This happened more than once. They refused to give appointment and send me to A&E though not urgent. Also, they the reception lady laugh at me when I asked how to collect a testing sample. Very unprofessional and disappointing. I’m going to change my Gp, shame to know tax is spent here. Their services are much lower than any nhs health provider I had.

Dear Patient, Thank you for your feedback. My name is Emily and I'm the Operations Manager at Bath Row Medical Practice. I am very sorry to hear that you had an issue with our phonelines. We have recently implemented a new telephony system and there was unfortunately a few bumps with the system, however, this has now been fixed. I am very sorry to hear that you had problems with the Reception Team. I will discuss this with the Reception Supervisor to ensure that this will never happen again. We are always trying to improve our service and I will take your comments back to the GP Partners so we can discuss taking this further. If you would like to talk about this further, please call the practice on 0121 622 4846 and ask to speak to myself and I will be happy to discuss this in more detail with you. Thank you. Kind regards, Emily Hunter Operations Manager

Review titled Improved Time for Answering Phone
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Tina - Posted on 17 September 2024
I waited only 15 minutes for the phone to be answered today, that's a great improvement. I was given the choice of face to face or telephone, I chose face to face and was given the choice of 3 times. This is way better than the usual wait of over an hour, to be told there are no appointments left or only telephone ones, if you're lucky. I don't know if this was a fluke or they have adopted a better system, maybe employed more staff for this specific task? The woman who answered the phone was unusually friendly and helpful too. Credit where it's due.

Dear Tina, Thank you very much for your feedback. As a Practice, we have implemented a new phone system which seems to be helping a lot with waiting times on the phone. We have also employed more GP's so that we have more appointments for our patients. Finally, we now have more Administration Staff answering the phones. I am pleased that this has been noticed. Thank you again for your kind comment. Kind regards, Emily Hunter Operations Manager

Review titled Pleasantly surprised
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Dave - Posted on 24 April 2024
As most of the reviews here are quite negative I thought I'd redress the balance after my positive experience this morning. Number 20 in the telephone queue but didn't have to wait too long to get an appointment . 90 minutes later I drove into the car park and found a space. Had to wait 10 minutes to be seen but had a very pleasant and helpful consultation with the doctor and was back home with my meds an hour later. So it's not all bad.

Review titled Worst Practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Merlin - Posted on 21 March 2024
I visited the GP in person on 18th March 2024, I have been told that i will get an phone appointment on 21st March. On 20th March i received a message to my phone telling that the GP will call me between 8.20 to 10.20. I told them before i cannot pick the call as i was teaching until 12 pm. I was waiting until 10.20 for the call. There was no call until 10.30. The GP called me at 10.55, which i could not attend i was teaching. When i called the GP today to book another appointment the lady in the reception was rude. She told me she is going to give me an appointment Saturday 23rd March between 1 and 4 pm. I told her that i will be teaching at 3 and requested to give me a call between 1 and 3. Is that a hard thing to give a telephonic call between two hour slot? GP is for patients. I am a tax payer and pay health surcharge to take these services. The GP should work considering the patients circumstances in mind. Its my bad luck i need to move home and pick this surgery which was near my residence.

Dear Merlin, Thank you for your feedback. My name is Emily Hunter and I am the Operations Manager for Bath Row Medical Practice. I am very sorry it has taken me so long to respond to your review. I am sorry to hear of your bad experience at the Practice. While we do try and accommodate a patients request for a specific time of call, we unfortunately cannot always guarantee this. We usually give patients an AM or PM timeslot due to not knowing if a GP may be running behind in clinic, or if there may be an emergency in clinic. I will most certainly take your comments to our clinical team in our next clinical meeting, to discuss ways around this and to try and keep to a much clearer timescale. I am sorry you had a bad experience with the Practice. If you wish to discuss this further, please call the practice on 0121 622 4846 and ask to speak to myself and I will be more than happy to discuss this in more detail. Thank you again for your feedback. Kind regards, Emily Hunter Operations Manager

Review titled Terrible Appointment Service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 30 November 2023
I called the GP number to confirm a vaccination appointment as my midwife suggested. The woman who picked up the phone said the appointment cannot be found and hung up! In the beginning, I thought it might be a connection issue or so. So I called again, waiting for another 15 mins, and she heard my description and hung up again immediately. I am sure my phone signal is perfect and the calls are hung up on purpose. Very very rude and inprofessional service. Totally waste of time and show zero responsibility of the work. I've decided to change my GP.

Review titled Horrible service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Woman - Posted on 19 May 2023
I called them to book an appointment and they told me to hang up and call on Monday morning to do so. I asked them what would be different then and how I would be handled on Monday and they said that they will book me a slot for a follow up call by the GP. I asked them to ''book me for the next available slot now'' which she did and she said it would be on ''Monday evening''.....What absurdity in the receptionist's behavior!!!Since I am giving them a call and they have access to book me for the next available slot they should simply go ahead and do so instead of asking me to call them again on a different day !!it's simple logic which apparently they are lacking...unless of course they don't want to work and they simply pass the work to the next staff member so they don't have to deal with it

Review titled Awful - impossible to contact
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 06 April 2023
Impossible to contact, I have been cut off 6 times in a row trying to get through after they cancelled my appointment at short notice and reissued one I could not make. All I can do is not attend, and then get removed from their list - This must be their plan to reduce patients, genius.
