  1. Review titled abysmal service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 10 September 2023

I had the misfortune to have an appointment on 8/9/23 at 10am. At 10.15 a lady came and told me there was an "emergency" and I would have to wait to see the sister when I asked how long I was told "dont know".I asked if it could half an hour="dont know"-could it be 2hours="dont know".No help at all no offer to try to fit me in with someone else or rebook-just an air of total indifference no interest at all in patient care just get on with yourself-shocking. I really think it is not too much to expect better.

Dear Sir We are aware of what happened on the morning of the 8th September and we are sorry that some of our patients had to wait longer than usual to see our Advanced Nurse Practitioner. Our ANP had a very poorly patient with her who had to be conveyed to hospital. THis patient had to remain in her room with the ANP until the ambulance had arrived. Our Reception Manager kept patents updated on a number of ocassions and informed patients waiting that the wait was likely to be 30 minutes. The wait was in fact 30 minutes as she had suggested. We object to reviews like this being left, It is simply not a reflection of the service that we provide to each and every one of our patients. It was an unforeseeen situation and due to the nature of the business that we are in, emergencies do happen. We pride ourselves in delivering excellent care and although we are not an emergency service, we do sometimes have to provide emergency care. We have had a full investigation into this situation and we are happy that what we did at the time of the emrgency was the correct and appropriate course of action. yours sincerely Aylmer Lodge Cookley Partnership

  2. Review titled Very good practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Richard Ewart Merrall - Posted on 25 April 2023

I have been a patient of this practice for 14 years and have always found it to be very efficient and caring. In addition I have always found it easy to get an appointment usually on the same day. For example i requested a routine appointment at 8 10 yesterday and was offered one at 11.40. I have recommended this practice to others and will continue to do so . Other plus points are good car parking and chemist either next door or in the surgery at the cookley site.

  3. Review titled Disappointed

Rated 3 stars out of 5

My doctors sent me for a chest xray at my local hospital which is just round the corner from the surgery. I tried to get into the car park of the hospital but it was packed. I parked up at my doctors. As I'm honest I went in to tell the receptionist that I parked there but, I was a patient of theirs, as i had an appointment at the hospital. I also needed the code for the barrier. She bluntly and rudely said you can't park here it's for patients. I said we'll my doctor at alymer lodge sent me for the chest xray and I was therefore a patient. She said, well you shouldn't of told me then and still can't park there. This lead me to feel upset and stressed. I have never has the cause to complain before as I love this surgery. However, I would suggest that if my own doctor has sent me for outpatient treatment at hospital, then we should be allowed to park at the surgery. This will help make sure we attend outpatients and be considerate to us, their patients. Its a shame the receptionist has not attained people skills.

Dear Patient We are very sorry this has happened. Unfortunately, we do have an issue with patients visiting the hospital, parking on the Hume Street site and at times it has been impossible for staff and patients visiting the surgery to park. On occasion when this happens we do advise to park in a side street. I was disappointed to hear that the receptionist was blunt with you and I will raise this with the Receptionist Manager at our Management meeting tomorrow. I wonder if you would be kind enough to contact the Practice so we can get a bit more information from you. yours sincerely Lisa Benton Deputy Practice Manager
