  1. Review titled Great explanations and conversation with my toddler

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Jessica - Posted on 25 September 2024

Having attended the surgery for my daughters jabs - I was really put at ease, as was my daughter by the tactics and care employed by the children's nurse. Thankyou

  2. Review titled Great care but Concern!

Rated 3 stars out of 5

    by J B Oldham - Posted on 15 October 2024

Had a session with a nurse a few days ago having damaged my big toe (right). She recognised immediately that I had an infection. Took a photo and sent it to a doctor who would perhaps prescribe "antibiotics". She asked were I would like to collect the medication next day. Local pharmacy closed Saturday's. Had a message from the doctor that it would be at the local pharmacy - that meant two days delay in getting my treatment. I had asked for it to be sent to Boots, Loughborough. Comment please! Thanks for help.

  3. Review titled Long waits for appointment times

by Anonymous - Posted on 18 June 2024

I have only made one appointment off my back - all my others appointments have been requested by the surgery. The last two appointments have seen me waiting in the waiting room way beyond my appointment times - an hour! I don't know why they bother to give times! They are a work of fiction IIhave had dealings with the deputy practice manager and found her totally unhelpful. The practice manager never seems to be at the surgery. I appears there are too many patients on the books and too few staff and it is my opinion that the medical staff are working at full throttle but the practice is not well run and has too many patients. I am seriously thinking of going to another practice as this is getting beyond a joke when I keep having to take time off work because I can't guarantee getting out of the practice in less than one hour plus when I have an appointment. Due to my lack of requesting appointments I have not suffered the long waits experienced by others but hear the complaints of friends who have had to wait weeks for an appointment and this puts me off even trying to make an appointment. The telephone wait times are ridiculous. I have given up trying to ring and call in now. There are not enough people to answer the phone and nor to deal with the ling queues at reception in busy periods. I would not recommend this practice

  5. Review titled Excellent practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I was able to get an appointment quickly for my child using the call back service. The doctor was excellent at talking to them and explaining what was going to happen. Following appointments were timely and results too. Thank you for looking after us.

  6. Review titled Why make an appointment?….

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 March 2024

I was given an appointment more than 3 weeks ago but still had to wait over an hour to see a nurse. Absolutely ridiculous! What is the point of having an appointment, there aren’t enough staff to see the patients? One receptionist to answer the phone and queries from patients just isn’t good enough. Need more doctors and nurses to see the number of patients the surgery has taken on their panel. This used to be a good surgery but has gone downhill in the past few months.

  7. Review titled Terrible

Rated 1 star out of 5

Phoned at bang on 8am to be in a call Queue for 1hour 19 minutes. Once connected the receptionist asked for a brief explanation of what was wrong. I explained I was concerned about something and wanted a doctors appt. She responded with “today’s appointments are for emergency only, and the next appointment to book you for is 22nd April” - it is currently 13th March. Is this really the state of the NHS? What do I pay my taxes for if I can’t even get an appt at my local GP surgery for 6 weeks. I have booked at a private GP for an appt next day. Just a shame I am Paying taxes but get nothing for it. Shambles!!

  8. Review titled Very poor practice

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Edward - Posted on 08 April 2024

Alpine House has gone from being one to recommend to one to avoid. It's becoming increasingly difficult to get a GP appointment, the standard phone message now is that the practice is extremely busy, when you do get through, and require what they determine to be a 'routine' appointment there is a four week waiting list to see a doctor. Something has gone very wrong at Alpine House, they do their best to put patients off from seeing a doctor and hope you just give up and not bother them. As an older person my medical needs are increasing, but as they are not 'emergencies' I'm made to feel that I'm a nuisance and shouldn't be bothering them. I've just been on hold for over 45 minutes, when the line went dead, what to do now? I can only surmise they have too many patients on the books for the number of doctors available, this makes it a very poor experience for me, the patient. I'm gradually becoming conditioned to think I should just put up with being unwell or in pain.

  10. Review titled Not suitable

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 15 February 2024

Having lived in the village for over 60 years and using this practice, I decided to change due to a lack of appointments. Recently I took my elderly mother for her appointment, an hour waiting in reception before she was seen, then had to walk down 1 and a bit corridors to be greeted by a doctor in a mask and disposable gloves. Mum asked Dr if she could pull down her mask because she was not able to understand her, said Dr looked at her and refused. Disgusting and rude.
