Review titled Seems like no GPs
Rated 1 star out of 5
by John - Posted on 30 October 2024
retching for weeks, I ended up in the hospital for an infected kidney cyst. when I came out, I tried to get some anti sickness meds, but only get phone music. so impossible to contact, I've tried the admin email many times, but they say they don't book appointments, use the phone. Hospital said I should move to insulin, again no joy with gp. I emailed my concerns about Gliclazide with bad kidney, again no response. I've asked them to not use my mobile as it has issues, but they use it solid. They said they tried to phone me, but I was in hospital by then. Feels like I've been banned from hearing from a gp. Haven't seen one in the face since before covid here.

Review titled Poor service
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Shane - Posted on 30 October 2024
My 2 year old has been suffering a bad cough, potentially a chest infection, for almost a week. As parents we tend to think we are quite resilient when supporting our children through illness and where possible avoid using the NHS as we are fully aware of the strains it is under. Yesterday my wife contacted our GP regarding our son’s illness to have to speak to an automated system. We have been informed we have to wait 48 hours for a call back with a clinician. What concerns me is that my child, I am sure similar to many patients are being assessed, medication administered, over the phone without seeing patients. I wonder what accountability this practice takes for misdiagnosis through this system. I can’t imagine the accuracy of diagnosis being high. We decided to pop into Addison house today at which point I was told that the nature of our concerns were not deemed serious enough to warrant a face to face appointment. This lack of compassion has fuelled me with anger. What right does anyone think it’s acceptable to decide on this without even meeting the patient. As a result of this we considered taking our son to A&E which shouldn’t even have to be considered with that challenges hospitals already face but with a failing GP surgery like this I guess we may have no option.

Review titled Really disrespectful receptionist
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 04 September 2024
In my life never had experience like this, the receptionist should be there to help you with what they can instead seatting comfortable and not take it seriously what patients said when they walk in to a surgery, try to take appointment and talking to a automatic service, people need to talk about problems to doctors and not answer machine, very disappointing and I think to go somewhere else,

Review titled Worst ever practice
Rated 1 star out of 5
by Marcus - Posted on 13 August 2024
Don’t care about patients very quick and easy to brush patients off with a text message. Avoid at all costs. I sent a econsult got a text saying I’ll hear from a pharmacy I didn’t hear so I called the pharmacy and got told we can’t deal with your issue. By this time practice was closed. The main GP is rude and there is no level of care

Review titled How do people get appointments??
by Anonymous - Posted on 24 July 2024
Lloyds sent in my repeat BP prescription as usual. It was refused and told to see doctor/ get it ok'ed I used econsult had to fill in details about BP etc. Had a reply saying I'd hear back before 6.30 next day. In tbe afternoon of next day I had a text saying you cant have a b12 injection until October. ! Tried phoning to talk yo reception but automated service just took me to recorded messages about making sn appointment, no choices to talk to anyone. Tried several times, and tried econsult again. In the end emailed the surgery. Today now 5hours after work started still not had a reply in any way so tried the phone again, I was on the phone listen znd responding to recordings for 10 minutes!. I'm 70 and pretty ok with technology, but how on earth to older people manage! This system is not working and needs to be changed now. I still need my tablets snd I've no idea how I'm going to get them!

Review titled Good once you can get a response
Rated 3 stars out of 5

Could never actually speak with a receptionist. All done on a. Automated service. Call backs are done at wrong times and as I work in a fast paced office environment it is difficult to take calls when unprepared to receive them! I understand timings cannot be too precise but was given wrong days and then morning calls instead of afternoons and so. Missed a few calls. Not helpful, I am afraid.

Review titled Lovely receptionist
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Jeanette - Posted on 19 June 2024
Felt I had to leave a positive review after I had such a pleasant and helpful experience today. A receptionist lady called me to arrange an appointment. She was also able to set up repeat prescriptions for me and rearrange the pharmacy. Fantastic service.

Review titled Poor communication

GP is incredibly hard to get in contact with, phones are always busy and when you do finally get to speak to the receptionist they have no knowledge! I made an appointment for 2 weeks in advance explicitly stating to the receptionist what tests I needed. 2 working days before the appointment they cancelled. Not impressed with this practises dealings will be changing GPs as soon as possible

My wife has a bad chest infection and it's taken 3 weeks for her to receive medication. Which doesn't seem to work. The receptionist think they are the Dr. And actually seeing a Dr is virtually impossible.

Review titled Poor service

by Colin Thorpe - Posted on 19 January 2024
On the 19th January 2024 I visited Addison House to make several appointments the first for my regular bimonthly B12 injection only as always having to argue the point that the records need updating updating as it every 2 months and not every 3 months and it had been that way for the last 5 years. As my condition is deteriorating rapidly I need a face to face appointment and not a telephone call unless he can test my legs and feet down the telephone. Refused protocol demands that I must have a telephone appointment first My medication review is due on the 26th January but the earliest date would be the 8th February by which time I would be out of my medications. I should not have to argue with a receptionist for 30 minutes about a patients needs.
