Review titled Kind Receptionists
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by Annie Norwood - Posted on 25 October 2024
I Visited The Surgery Yesterday I needed help regarding the course of antibiotics that had been selected by a Consultant I had seen last week. There were three receptionists that went out of their way to help me, they are a credit to Addington Road Surgery. Not only Yesterday but every time I visit the surgery their kindness shines through. Thank You so very Much. I’m not allowed to name them, but they know.

Review titled professional and efficient service
Rated 5 stars out of 5

My questions regarding menopause have been listened to with a plan of care / treatment discussed as a partnership. I have been able to change treatment after discussing my concerns. I am confident that I can contact my GP with any further questions / concerns. I was able to get an appointment (date and time) that suited me in the women's sexual health clinic. Prescription requests were acted on in a timely manner.

Review titled Caring Practice
Rated 5 stars out of 5

Everyone from the administrative team to the clinical team has taken good care of me and my family. I had a mental breakdown in the waiting area, due to overwhelming responsibilities and I was assisted by a lovely young girl and a clinical pharmacist. I was offered the space to vent my frustration. It’s a compassionate practice.

At a recent appointment I found the reception staff to be very welcoming and helpful. The doctor I saw put me at ease, was empathetic and never made me feel rushed. He took the time to listen and address my issues. This practice is the best and I cannot recommend them enough.

Review titled Awful

You can't book an appointment on the phone, as they don't pick up. When you get one via econsult the Drs don't turn up. 45 minute delay for my 1st apt and so cancelled and now I've waited 25 minutes and still no Dr. I work full time. I don't have time to sit and wait for an hour to see a Dr

Review titled Mini hospital
Rated 5 stars out of 5
by HappyZohar - Posted on 27 November 2023
I think im going to have a bad experience with them, but it’s not them its the endocrinologist at the Pru im just given whos making changes that i dont want and leaving in 3 weeks, it’s Christmas in 3 weeks, but she did write me in to her replacements diary for an appointment in 5 months. It’s a shame because i have really complex mental health needs (a diagnosis a kin of bipolar and schitzophrenia) and i need this medication to stay the same. In regards to Addington road, they find me words when i have none (The reception staff and drs), they are polite when im frustrated, they want to fix things genuinely, they invite me in their life enough to feel valued (thankyou) and tbh, my advice time after time is to trust them, %90 of the time they pull something out of the hat. The DRs are hardworking, professional, kind, talented and they beleive in something, they had have maybe a vision, the centre has treatment rooms and id love to see an extension with an attached physio, scanner or more procedure rooms,,,, a mini hospital. There’s a library now. I do get impressed by the drs quite frequently, they know their onions, they are humble but skilled, polite yet firm, and hounest, i also have a spinal chord injury and i have to say they are great for mental health when you can’t face the psychiatrists/their team as they get so much wrong. Addington road is mostly restorative and refreshing and due to a large solid core of people. The building is clean, nurses are very good, parking ample for blue badge. Well done to you. Be proud, but dont fall!

Thank you for a positive review which does not happen often as its human nature to point out mistakes made rather than positive experiences. This is very appreciated. We will pass this onto the team for positive reflection. Many thanks, Practice Manager

Review titled Mediocre

by Linda - Posted on 12 September 2023
When I had my flu vaccine last week I asked if I could book a shingles vaccine as I understood that, at 69, I could, according to recent media information. The receptionist already knew my date of birth and booked me in for one today and gave me a card. The receptionist on duty this morning had no record of this appointment and had the attitude of not appearing to care. If I wasn’t eligible why book me in thus wasting my time? I have been with this surgery for decades.

Dear Linda, we are very sorry to hear of your experience, your review will be shared with the reception and wider team for discussion and reflection and our next practice meeting. For clarity the media is not giving the correct information, it should state that you are only eligible on your 70th year or 75th year not prior, in between or after, as the NHS are rolling it out in this way. Again, we apologise for the unsympathetic manner in which this was dealt with and the inconvenience caused. Thank you Practice Manager

Review titled Lack of Empathy
Rated 2 stars out of 5
by Anonymous - Posted on 30 August 2023
As a patient of 10 years I have had varied experiences. Until I got an issue in lock down I barely used them and on the experience of this single issue I am seeking an alternative. I walked into my appointment today barely holding it together after a year of being messed about and my condition which is painful worsening. The GP knew the background yet was only interested in getting me out so she could recover her late appointments. So after being patronised by a dismissive and disinterested doctor I left distraught. Never again.
