My wife and son came in today regarding his Impetigo, we’ve already been to the hospital but now my wife has caught is she’s in agony, at one point the doctors said to us I don’t know, what do you think it is. If we knew what the problem was we wouldn’t be here in the first place. They’re constantly getting appointment times wrong, it’s like they haven’t even got a clue what they’re doing If you live in Colchester I’d avoid this doctors completely

I am really sorry this has been your experience. Unfortunately as reviews are anonymous I have no way of responding directly. However, if you call me directly 01206 517106 I will do my best to help. I am not sure if you are aware but currently if you would like a doctors appointment we require everyone to complete a form on line:- https://abbeyfieldmedicalcentre.co.uk/ The doctor will then triage these requests and either respond directly to you or give you an appointment. If you have not done so already I suggest you do this for your wife's impetigo and we will aim to get this addressed as soon as possible. If for any reason you are unable to fill out the on line form please call 01206 517100 and we will help you. Hopefully we can get this resolved quickly. Best Regards Nicky Young Practice Manager

Phoned up 111 because of high blood pressure , advised me to make an appointment with my doctor to go over medication , phoned to make appointment to be told i cannot , i have to use online to be triaged, before the doctor will think about an appointment , used the practice mangers number but cant leave a message ,system is full . organisation of this place is so convoluted has no idea its not working and is alienating the people who relied on it

Dear Harry Cussons All clinical appointment requests are now triaged in the same way. All patients are required to fill out a form on our web site:- https://www.abbeyfieldmedicalcentre.co.uk/ These forms are then reviewed by Reception and then triaged by the Duty Doctor. The Duty Doctor decides what action is needed e.g. if someone needs an appointment immediately, within 2 or 3 days or in a weeks time or indeed if they can respond on line to the patients request. For people who are unable to fill out the form they can still call/come in and the Receptionist will fill out the form on their behalf. So there are no barriers to accessing appointments. I understand one of our team has called you to do just this. This process is no more convoluted that posting a complaint on this web site and can be done in the same amount of time. We have had really positive feedback from the system so far - we have been operating it for 1 week. However, we will review feedback and make changes where necessary. My kid had an appointment at 3:55 and we arrived 5 minutes before the appointment and till the moment I wrote this at 16:35 and we did not call for the doctor? All the people arrived after us were called to the doctor and my kid and me been left till the end! We tried to talk to the receptionist and she was really rude and disrespectful in a way I’ve never seen it before? I personally do not go to the Hospitals or Gb i would chose to die home peacefully when I got sick than having this way of treating? I had to wait because of my child

I had a pre-booked appointment for this morning . I had noticed there wasn't anything in my future appointments with my system online,so decided to call the practice to confirm my appointment was still correct. I was told by one of the ladies my appointment had been moved by the practice manager to a different doctor and a different time .i wasn't informed of this change of appointment also i was told that particular dr was on sick so as a result i ended up with no appointment .as i also was not informed. However i was offered a new appointment for a different day with the original dr i was pre booked to see. I understand. Sickness . appointments having to be cancelled but i don't understand why i wasn't informed about any of these changes .. very dissapointing !!

Needing to talk to my doctor or any doctor at this point about my blood pressure and chest problems , but i cant do that because the rotors are not up for me to make an appointment to see the doctor . i can either run the gambit of attempting to call first thing in the morning and compete with other people for an appointment or wait a month, I even ask to see the nurse but was told it would be futile , i guess my only option now for treatment is to wait for a heart attack to get the treatment at A&E and the aftercare that the hospital will provide ,

My wife rang Abbey Field Medical Centre earlier todayregarding a letter from the Hospital to a Doctor at Abbey Fields. She was told to ring back after 5pm which she did. She rang at 5pm and was on hold until 5:45pm she was number 1 to be answered and when she got through Abbey Field hung up on her. Why?

I received a generic text that I was due for a cervical screening. I called the surgery and booked x2 appointments which were two weeks apart because they could not be booked on the same day. 2 days before the first appointment which was for blood test, called and cancelled because I had an urgent meeting (work-related) I have never cancelled an appointment before! On the day of my appointment, I was told that I am no longer registered in the surgery with no explanation. The receptionist reported that she will be getting back to me after speaking to the practice manager which she never did. I have worked in a health profession for over 20yrs. I felt unfairly treated and I will definitely be changing my GP Practice.

I sent questions concerning a medical problem by the website and got a text message ./ phone call within hours . Very much appreciated as I understand how busy the surgery is at all times . Many Thanks to all staff , some who have seen me face to face , others by phone calls/ texts . Thank you !!

I phoned on 13th December to get a call back or home visit and the receptionist was so rude and snappy towards me .I used to work in chemist next to hawthorn surgery and know how stressful it can be but don't take it out on patients
