    The reception staff have messed up my appointments on multiple occasions. Once the appointment sheets are handed over to the reception, patients are sent away without confirming the next appointment with a statement saying we will send you a text and email notification. Upon follow up calls and emails only to state that they have messed up the appointments and cannot get an appointment for months. Additionally, appointments made on phone calls are equally badly managed. Overall very dissatisfied with the reception staff.

    Poor administration- I was sent a text saying I had to complete forms online before arriving for the appointment. I tried several times but couldn't get past the first page because it said my details entered were incorrect so I phoned the reception and was told by an automated message that "I was number 2 in the queue" repeatedly for 14 minutes while I was "on hold". Then the phone line went dead - sounding like someone had picked the phone up and hung up straight away to end the call. I attempted to phone the detal practice on eight occasions in the next hour and was greeted with an engaged tone or the phone was answered and call ended (phone put down to end the call) so was unable to contact them. When I arrived for the appointment- for a routine check up - and mentioned the problem with the online forms I was told they knew the system didn't work and I could fill in the forms by hand in the reception! I arrived early for the appointment and witnessed several patients who had the same problems with online forms .. if they knew the forms didn't work why waste time sending the link. When I arrived for the appointment there were 4 people behind the reception, one was talking so loudly that she drowned out what others were trying to say. When it got busy, people disappeared leaving only one person dealing (slowly) while a queue of patients waited (some for 15 minutes). People were told "your appointment was cancelled earlier today, didn't you read the text? ". A really shambolic state of affairs. When I eventually got to see the dentist (almost 20 minutes late) who was polite, I asked if they could do a scale and polish (as part of the Band 1 course of treatment) while they conducted a (very quick) routine inspection. They said "not this time"and said I could book a hygienist appointment for £73.50 if I wanted to. I believe that they rushed my appointment because they were running late and didn't want to do a scale and polish or quick clean of my teeth because they wanted me to pay more money. I have had previous dental inspections at this same practice where they refused to do a scale and polish (even though this is covered by Band 1 treatment costs) because they "did not have time". The dentist said I should visit the dentist for a checkup every 6 months (£26.80 each time) and could book a hygienist appointment every 6 months (£73.50). This dental practice should be ashamed they do not care about people's dental health, only about getting money from those of us who pay for the "services" from our own money, not government funds. I would recommend you find another dental practice if you can.

    Staff are always welcoming and polite. I always feel so comfortable with the dentist, they are so professional and give good advice.

    The dentist realised I had a hygienist appointment the next week and asked if I’d like one straight after my check up today to save me s trip then organised it all for me. Brilliant

    I left Roderick dental practice with the satisfaction that i had a satisfactory check up, with friendly , helpful advise about how best to look after my teeth.
