The overall excellent service stood out for me. Because I arrived more than an hour early, due to expecting to be delayed by traffic. It was a pleasant surprise to be seen straight away by a dentist who gave me some new preventative tips for looking after my teeth. Thank you all at Tewkesbury Dental Practice. I appreciated being seen as an NHS patient as I am a pensioner.

I was in the dentists chair for 3/4 minutes max I was informed that I had no holes in my teeth and that was it … cost £25. I was going to pay monthly by direct debit under the new scheme not now !

The fastest check up I & my husband had experienced in our life . It took the consultant 15 minutes to examine both of us . We were in there at 10.45 am and after both check up we were out by 11.00 am very smart I must say! My self and my husband who helps me because of disability when in the consultation room together . Neither of us was offered x-Ray although we haven’t had one for a very long time as at our last check up visit their X-ray machine was out of action.

There was difficulty in initially obtaining this appointment, as I'm a NHS patient. I ended up coming into the surgery to book as I couldn't get an appointment or even get through by phone. This is because I was cut off after a long wait on hold, several times. This was a few months ago so hopefully improved. After my appointment this time, I was told I can only ring a month in advance for my 6 month check up and that it's a first come first served basis. I was told that once the allocation of limited NHS appointments are fully booked for that month, you will have to ring again from the first of the next month. I imagine the first day of each month will be similar to the 8:00a.m. morning hold, constantly engaged and having to ring back at the GP surgery to get an appointment. It feels to me that Tewkesbury House Dentist surgery is now discriminating against NHS patients, though they say there is no choice. I also noticed a 'would you recommend this practice to a friend' form on the side. It had a NHS emblem on it. This is interesting as I understand, if I did recommend a friend, they couldn't be a NHS patient anyway as none are now being taken on anymore, so maybe have forms without the NHS emblem. After saying this, I gave 3stars as my experience was balanced by the dentist being very attentive and very thorough with me.

The quickest check up I and my wife experienced in all our life ! NHS must be getting smarter! We had to wait seven months to get an appointment and is over year we had an X/ray on check up visit!

My inspection lasted approximately 2 mins. The rest of the appointment was the dentist assessing my teeth for veneers when I hadn't asked about veneers and then trying to up sell when I said I wasn't interested.

My Hygenist and her assistant were excellent. It's a shame the practise is dropping its existing NHS patients and inviting them to go private.
