  1. Review titled Terrible service.

Rated 1 star out of 5

Attempted to make appointments with this practice by telephone. Voicemail operative. Left a message asking for a call back to arrange appointments. Did not receive a call back. Called them again about a month later and managed to arrange appointments. Received a text message 7 days before the appointments next week stating that the appointments had been cancelled. No reason given. My wife spent 20 minutes on the telephone to the practice 2 days ago asking why the appointments were cancelled and trying to arrange new appointments. No explanation given for cancellation. New appointments are a further 8 weeks away. Managed to keep one appointment for next week. Had a text message this morning saying that the appointment for next week has now been cancelled. Visited the practice in person and asked why the appointment for next week was cancelled, 2 days after it was made, following a 20-minute telephone call. Dentist called the practice this morning and told them he was no longer available. No locum available to meet the appointment. Managed to make an appointment for the day after the previous appointment that was cancelled. My son also had an orthodontic appointment booked on a day at 7pm. Asked whether that would still go ahead and was told that the orthodontist only works until 7pm, last appointment at 6.30, so could we change the appointment for earlier. Why make an appointment for a time that the orthodontist does not work? Asked to speak to the Practice Manager. She had left the previous day. New, interim practice manager will not be in the practice until next week. No feedback forms available in the practice. This practice seems to be in disarray. Has now been taken over by a firm entitled Rodericks Dental, who appear to have other practices in the West Midlands. Blame for these problems was placed on Rodericks Dental. My family, 4 of us, now have appointments, but I don't trust that they will go ahead, expectation is that the new appointments we've made will also be cancelled. We shall see.

  2. Review titled Don’t waste your time

Rated 1 star out of 5

Honestly the worst dental practice, haven’t even got as far as seeing a dentist as the reception team are next to useless. Promised a call in Feb with an appt date, called to chase and always promised a callback that never happens. When you call they say to call back the next day as the staff member you need to speak to is in, but then when you call back they’ve all called in sick. Avoid this surgery.

  3. Review titled Abysmal service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Mr Robert O'Dell - Posted on 01 December 2022

I am a patient registered with Purity Dental Surgery and I was due to attend a 09.00 appointment for dental treatment on Tuesday of this week, 29th November 2022. I was literally one minute away from the surgery when I received a phone call to inform me that my appointment had been cancelled, once again 'due to the dentist having called in sick'. I have lost count of the number of times that I have had appointments booked with them which have subsequently been cancelled, usually at the last minute and always 'due to the dentist having called in sick'. In fact I have actually had more cancelled appointments than times I have actually managed to be seen at the surgery, and quite frankly I'm struggling to believe the reason that I'm always given for the cancellation. As you might imagine, I was not best pleased when I got the phone call whilst travelling up Buffery Road and I vented my displeasure at the receptionist who had the unfortunate job of calling me - not her fault of course, so my apologies to her - so I did ask who the practice boss was and I was told that she would be in in about half an hour, "would you like me to get her to call you"? Naturally I requested the call. I wanted to discuss the matter and of course (hopefully) make another appointment To date I have not been contacted, just another example of the inefficiency of the practice I imagine.....or maybe just couldn't be bothered. Anyway, just a helpful suggestion, maybe they could recruit some healthier dentists in future to avoid them 'calling in sick' so frequently! I'm still awaiting a further appointment and a phone call.

  4. Review titled Terrible customer service.

Rated 1 star out of 5

They need to retrain members of staff on basic customer service as they do not know how to speak to customers over the phone. In addition, they need to sort their systems out, in terms of contacting their customers back to rearrange new appointments. When they deregister customers they should let them know instead of inconveniencing them especially where they're at fault. Terrible service will never get a recommendation from me.
