  1. Review titled No explanation given

I had to wait 12 months for an NHS appointment which was cancelled once so overall wait 14 months. The dentist bearley looked inmy mouth. Took an x-ray of a problem tooth, told me I needed a crown. I was asked to make a half hour appointment and a further appointment after that. No explanation was given of what would happen in the process of having a crown and it has to be paid for upfront. This was a generally poor experience. I am considering cancelling. I feel anxious even after researching the process on the Internet.

Hi, We are sorry to receive your review and apologise for any anxiety caused during your treatment. As I am unable to locate your record due to the information left I can only advise that you call the practice and speak with the practice manager who will be able to assist you at this time and explain anything you are unsure about. 2. Review titled Heath Road Dentist

The receptionist is always happy bright chatty and welcoming The dentists and hygienists I have seen were informative, put me at my ease and explained all treatment The practice is clean and bright The only issue I have is with the cancelling of NHS appts by the practice via letter stating ‘unforeseen circumstances’ as the reason. However if you ring up you can get private appts readily and easily. Makes me think private patients take priority over NHS patients. My 3 daughters and myself have had numerous appts cancelled which were then re-arranged but months down the line. One of my daughters had an appt booked which has now been rearranged due to practice cancelling until next March. However she rang up again and asked about a private appt and was told the practice could see her the next day but would need to pay upfront. Privatisation via the front door in my opinion

Dear Patient Thank you for your feedback and I am sorry for any inconvenience caused. Unfortunately, as this practice is already at maximum capacity for NHS patients, they are currently unable to offer you an NHS place. In some practices where we have no NHS appointment capacity, we do have alternative private options for patients to access dentistry, outside of the practices NHS contractual obligations. We will always offer patients this option as an alternative, so our patients can make an informed choice on their dental care. Kind Regards Julie Wood - {my}dentist Patient Services Team Leader
