  1. Review titled Dismissive receptionist

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 03 July 2023

I called to book in for a check up about a month ago and was told the next available appointment was 4weeks later, for it only to be cancelled on the day. I was called back to rebook and was told next available appointment was 6weeks from now which is far from ideal, meanwhile the receptionist on the phone was very short and condescending cutting me off mid sentence and reiterating the same date as though I was a child and that having to wait 10weeks to get a check up is normal, no apology for the inconvenience, just plain rude. I have been at this dentist for years and it would seem post covid its gone drastically gone down hill.

  2. Review titled My experience

Rated 4 stars out of 5

My new dentist was lovely and explained everything very well. My appt was the first of the day but it was also when the practice actually opens so everyone arriving at the same time to check in at reception was not ideal and resulted in over-running and late appointments right at the beginning of the day! Perhaps make the first appointment at 8:40 to allow staff / reception to get ready for the first patients.

  3. Review titled Do they even exist any more?

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Paul Adams - Posted on 24 May 2023

I'm a patient here but I cannot get an appointment for love nor money! Had some work done 2 years ago - start of a root canal and temporary filling done and then I needed to make a decision if I wanted to continue with the root canal. I had a hygenist appointment in between but had to cancel. I made the decision to have an extraction but couldn't get an answer on the phone so emailed and received no reply. Luckily the pain subsided so it didn't bother me too much so I thought I would wait for the reply but I never got one. Tried to call again and the number is not in use/ unreckognized so I have emailed again and still have not heard any response. Still in pain so now will have to choose a new dentist but most of them are only accepting new patients that have been referred to by another dentist. You see my dilema?

  4. Review titled Disappointed

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Marisa Costa - Posted on 02 February 2023

I started to use this practice over 4 years ago when I run into problems with my teeth after my first pregnancy. I was seen promptly with emergency appointment and was very satisfied with service, that once my maternity exemption terminated, I continued to use them privately. But with pandemic, my appointments were continuously cancelled, so I terminate the contract according to their policy and I haven't used them for over 3 years. Yesterday, I broken a tooth while eating salad at work (7 months after having my second baby). I called the practice this morning asking for an urgent appointment due to tooth breaking and thinking it is related to dental decay after having a baby. They offered me the only available appointment they said they had today. I was seen promptly on arrival and was well looked after. I told the dentist, while explaining what happened that I had a baby recently and was NHS exempt, as the same happened with previous pregnancy and thought was important to explain my dental health deterioration with pregnancies. At checkout out they asked me to book follow up. So when I approach the reception, they asked me to pay 99£ for today's appointment of 15 minutes with temporary filling. I asked to apply my NHS pregnancy exemption, but they refused stating that they couldn't because I was previously a private patient of theirs. I replied that nobody explained that I would have costs despite having valid NHS exemption during booking, on arrival, or even on initial discussion with the dentist. They didn't care and just said I had to pay. I paid reluctantly and asked for receipt (only given proof of card payment) and asked not to book follow up if they couldn't do it under NHS exemption. I am a NHS worker myself and I know this is poor patient practice and experience. I also know that I can claim it on NHS site for refund and will be doing it. But I feel that other people will be mislead if not aware of their circumstances and exemptions. I hope my will review help avoid the same to other service users in the future.
