I recently moved into the area and went onto the Damira dentist website to check that they accepted NHS clients. I checked their literature that was keen to emphasise that they are proud to provide NHS dental services to both NHS and private clients. I then took the trouble of driving to Sudbury to register. Having queued up in a very busy reception I was told that 'we do not want any new NHS clients' and I was sent on my way. Very disappointing and a complete waste of my time. The pratice should ensure they make it clear on their website that they do not take on any new NHS clients. The 'pro NHS' advertising is misleading. Thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review We are very sorry to hear you were unhappy with your experience at our Damira Bank Buildings practice. Unfortunately, our country is currently facing a recruitment crisis for NHS dentists. Despite our best efforts, due to the nationwide shortage of dentists we are struggling to provide routine care appointments under the NHS to most of our patients. This therefore means we are currently not in the position to register new patients under the NHS. Damira Dental Studios have always serviced both private patients and NHS patients. All dentists are self-employed and split their time between NHS and private care. As there is less demand for private services, we can offer this alternative for new patients wishing to register at the practice for routine care. Denplan is always offered as an option because it is the most affordable and efficient approach to becoming a private patient at the practice. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused. This practice has really gone down hill, they Always run late. My most recent appointment was 50 mintues late. My husband had 2 appointment where attended on time and after 1/2 hour of waiting he was advised that the dentist had not arrived ( yes twice!!) The reception area is exceptionally cold ( I notice all the receptionists had hot water bottle on their laps) and while i will take into account my previous comment none of the receptionists are welcoming or friendly, in fact they never acknowledge your arrival and you can be left standing for several minutes before they speak to you. I'm sure they are busy but a polite smile and "i'll be with you shortly" would be far more professional & welcoming

I have been with this practice for many years and I have been happy with my treatment over all. There has been some inconsistency there recently but I understand they are struggling to recruit NHS dentists. I think this is a nationwide problem that needs to be resolved at government level. As an NHS patient there are longer waits but the standard of work has usually been good. I’m phobic of dentists but I keep going back to this one so they must be doing something right!

I feel so lucky being registered with this practice. It’s head and shoulders above the others I have experienced. I was given an emergency appointment within 2 days for a broken tooth. As usual everyone was kind, helpful and reassuring. This practice really does put the patient at the heart of their work.

I went to have preparatory work done for a crown which will be fitted in two weeks' time. I was dreading this appointment but the dentist was highly proficient and worked with the utmost skill and speed to complete the work in the least painful way. I would definitely recommend this practice as I have always found the dentists here to be highly professional as well as all the receptionists.

My check up visit was very thorough with a oral cancer check, x-rays taken and examination. The Dentist was professional, polite and with a friendly manner and explained everything well. It was a good experience considering I do not like going!

Attended for a 3 monthly check up. As before my Dentist and Dental Nurse were very friendly and professional, and put me at ease bearing in mind I had a major heart operation a year ago and it is therefore crucial my teeth and gums are in good shape. The Reception staff were helpful

Attended for a 3 monthly check up and usual deep clean. Reception Staff very helpful. As usual my Dentist and Dental Nurse were very friendly, professional and put me at ease and reassured my worries over my hereditary gum disease which is effecting my teeth.

I had a good session with hygienist but she told me I needed a follow up appointment to remove all the tarter beneath the gums and said to make another appointment within 2 months So I was very disappointed to be told that they could not fit me in till July 2023 hopefully will get a cancellation appointment.
