I was highly anxious about going to the dentist. It has been an idea that has always scared me due to years of bad oral hygiene that started during a neglectful and abusive upbringing. I gave up on my teeth in my adult years due to fear that they were beyond repair, being undocumented for a time, and due to many years of continuing bad oral hygiene habits. Two pregnancies later, my teeth and gums are in dire straits, which has amalgamated into shame that has resulted in me avoiding the dentists entirely. With that long story short, I am so grateful for the kind and non-judgmental hygienist I saw on the 4th Sept. She took the time to inform and educate me about the current health of my teeth and gums, but not in a condescending way. She was clearly passionate about helping people to help themselves. I appreciated her taking the time to show me visually what gum disease looks like, and what the codes she was calling out meant. I left feeling at ease. She promoted consistent oral hygiene, and I feel hopeful I may be able to improve my teeth and gums or at least stop further damage. Thank you for being so kind and gentle and for putting me at ease. It was a massive hurdle for me and only the 2nd time I had ever seen a hygienist. As a healthcare professional myself I feel that the way I was treated was with utmost care and sensitivity. She consciously went out of her way to make me feel no shame and took a more proactive approach to care rather than a shaming, overly shocked, or berating style. I appreciated this because it showed her empathetic nature and understanding that you never know from what circumstance a person has come from. A true example of the approach that all healthcare professionals should take, and one that I, as a future practitioner will look to include in my own style Thank you for the care, and also the learning. Kind Regards. I want to add also that my dentist at this practice has also been extremely kind. She has put me and my children at ease. As has the receptionist who booked us in and made my children feel very special.

First time I met this particular hygienist today, bearing in mind I’ve been a patient for more than 50 years! What can I say, apologies for forgetting her name (she’s there on a Wednesday), but she made me feel completely at ease and was so gentle, even with my recently infected tooth, I felt no pain or discomfort at all. I’ve always been a ‘anxious patient’ of the dentist since childhood, but I have no concerns about my next visit with the hygienist in about 8 months, so thank you for ‘curing’ that particular anxiety and sorry for forgetting your name.

I've been attending the Bletchley Dental Practice for over 30 years and have always considered i've received a good service. My visit today was no exception. My appointment was with the Hygienist who works there on Weds and Thursdays. She explained the procedure and i immediately felt at ease. I felt that my teeth received a thorough clean, she also advised the optimum cleaning regime i should adopt. Overall i'm very happy with the service i received and have no hesitation in recommending the Bletchley Dental Practice to others.

I saw the hygienist at this practice recently and felt very motivated by my appointment. After the review she explained everything very clearly about the current state of my teeth and what I could do to put it right. I never felt patronised or “told off” ! It left me feeling very motivated to improve my dental health! I would recommend this hygienist to anyone !

I have been using this practice since it opened and have always been happy with them, they have been very good at dealing with emergencies and general treatment.
