I had an urgent care appointment at the practice. I have a tooth that has decay and had been giving me pain. During the appointment the dentist gave me an xray and told me I need filling or root canal treatment. That was all. I got home I called again and they advised me to check to see what is included within urgent care treatment. Permanent filling is also included in the urgent care appointment along with other things so I was confused as to why I was not given a filling.

Hi Thelma, Thank you for your feedback, we have investigated your visit and noted you came to us through the 111 urgent care service, whilst we appreciate patients in pain may not recall everything said at the appointment, you were given two options for treatment, either a filling or root canal, whilst you went away to consider these options we gave you remedial care in the meantime and advised you to find an NHS dentist to complete your treatment. If you are unable to find an NHS dentist, please call 111 who would book you in with an urgent care center once you've made your decision. Please note, the urgent care center will only start root canal treatment or place a temporary filling to get you out of pain and you will need to find a permanent dentist to then complete these treatments Thank you
