  1. Review titled Dismissive

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I attended the minor injuries after being referred for an ankle injury, I was referred to Yate because of the X-ray facility, as it was thought I may have broken/fractured my ankle. Bearing in mind my ankle was in a mess, bruised, swollen and very painful, the nurse simply told me it was badly bruised, and didn’t suggest an X-ray. 7 months and an MRI later at the time I attended Yate my ankle was actually fractured and now permanent damage has been done to my ankle and I’m awaiting a consultation with a surgeon. I was sat in with the nurse for no more than 3 minutes. She was extremely dismissive and I felt like I was wasting her time. Had an initial X-ray been done, I think the state of my ankle would be different right now. Don’t get me wrong, there are time wasters out there, but I was clearly in pain and the nurse couldn’t be bothered to deal with me properly, I left feeling stupid. All round not an ideal experience.

  2. Review titled Excellent Service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Really pleased with the service my husband received when he visited Yate MIU. Receptionist was efficient and friendly, We had to wait quite a long time as they were so busy but we understand the difficulties faced by the staff. The nurse practioner who treated my husband was excellent, putting him at ease and dealing with the injury in a very kind, professional and efficient manner.

  3. Review titled Excellent service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

Visited with my wife, damaged foot. Friendly and helpful reception, prompt and positive process of triage, x-ray and guidance. We hear a lot about how the NHS is struggling - this was a great example of how good the service is, and can be. Thank you

  4. Review titled Made to feel uncomfortable

Rated 2 stars out of 5

I attended the MIU after I had broken my leg. I phoned 111 who referred me to them. My sister dropped me off and went to park up. I was helped to walk to reception by a kind member of the public. The person on reception looked at me and said we are offering a restricted service. I explained I had been referred and they still said we are offering a restricted service. It was only as I was repeating my name for a third time that another member of staff said that I had been referred. I was then told well you will have to wait for hours. At that point I asked for a chair as I couldn't stand any longer. I felt very much like an inconvenience. The other staff were fine especially the student nurse on duty. I am a middle aged nurse and really didn't get the attitude of the receptionist no empathy what so ever. I would suggest a course in customer service. It's a tough job I know but really.
