Preparation for op. done very efficiently, but waiting room very cold. Also I was concerned that during the cataract removal procedure the surgeon was talking non - stop to his colleague about the schedule for the following day.Was he focusing on my eye? This neither helped me relax or inspired my confidence.

The clinic it self is excellent. Unfortunately some of the staff members require training. To put the drops in my eye, one nurse thought it wise to pinch under my eyes rather than ask me assist. This caused me immense pain. The first surgery was smooth. The second surgery had a string of complications. The patient in front of me was clearly suffering from some flu symptoms yet denied it. The equipment was not sanitised between patients. As a result, I came home and fell ill within 24hrs both vomiting and coughing. This caused immense strain on my delicate eyes resulting in soreness and redness. This virus I caught at this clinic as I had not been anywhere else and all family members were fully healthy. Reception staff decided to lick his fingers to turn pages of paperwork rather than use a wet pad. This paperwork I was handed to sign. The nurse handling me after my second surgery had no knowledge regarding aftercare and was happily advising me to bend my head forwards and have a bath and disregard any water that may go into my eyes within 24hrs of surgery. Absolutely shocking advise. The clinic overall is wonderful in standards but certain staff members are degrading it and require further training if not replacement.

From the initial consultation ,through the assessment ,followed by the actual operation and then the response to my queries ,I could not fault the care and consideration provided.

Stuff were very professional and efficient, and picked up information from my medical history which was relevant but probably not obvious. They were very clear in what they would recommend, and said I would need to attend a different center which operated a complex list. I return to Watford for a post-operative review and again they were very efficient and discharge me within the hour. Very impressed with the service.

Attended New clinic @ Colonial Way, Watford. 1. Late Dec.’23 @ 2. 17th Jan ‘24 ( 2nd eye ). Care & attention could not have been bettered. Over the 2 procedures I “dealt “ with or was attended by about a dozen different people. Hardly any two of these people were the same colour or had the same accent. And the procedure worked like clockwork, with skill, speed, & sympathy. Lovely people all. What a lesson for the world in general !

Excellent service, very friendly people, they put you at ease as soon as you get there, i had the first eye done in November, and six weeks later the second one done, due to a cancellation , just before Christmas, which i was very grateful for. The end result is that i now have fantastic clear vision, and i cant believe how clear all the the colours are, without any mist round everything. Thank you everyone. Robert Baylis

Excellent service offered.Transport provided which is a god sent the drivers are empathetic to the clients. On arrival extremely organized system provided by great staff. Nursing and surgeon provided excellent and extremely high standards of care.

I was really nervous about my eye operation, but the service and care I received at Spa Medica Watford was absolutely superb! Appointments ran to time which helped with booking time off work and not having to lose earnings. Free parking, refreshments and restroom facilities were available for an accompanying freind or relative. Most of all, every team member from the guy who met me at the front door through to the surgeon ond post-op care team, were both courteous and extremely professional. Thank you, thank you, thank you all for supporting me.
