Coffee & Biscuits on arrival, friendly staff reassuring, put you at ease. Waiting time not too long, all the while staff in attendance. My appointment was over before I realized, looking forward to my next one!

I was looked after by a highly professional and friendly team who seem to have answered all the questions that I could ask before I asked them. I feel that I have been extremely well looked after both in the assessment and in the operation.

Great welcome, very friendly and efficient staff. I was warmly welcomed, the treatment staff gave excellent treatment. I can’t wait to get my other cataract treated, excellent results. Well done Spa-Medica.

Now had 2 cataracts removed. Both experiences were 100% positive. Friendly admin staff and professional, caring medical team. Pre care and after care also excellent. The site could offer WiFi as for carers it is a long time to wait. No hesitation in recommending to others.

Dear Spamedica-Long Hanborough …August, the 7th, 2024, I attend Spamedica, for cataract removal surgery. Fear, and anxiety descended at dawn. On arriving at Spamedica, I was beautifully greeted by various members of staff, then made to feel relaxed, by their generous smiles and constant reassurance; nothing was over played, but normalised. (currently-my eye has fantastic, painless- vision). Before, entering the theatre, a young woman nurse was prepping me then she said, I won’t be too far if you wanted someone to hold your hand, no pressure, though. Until then, I’d been feeling sorry for myself thinking, if not a partner then at least if only I’d- had a child to be there for me to hold my hand. We are naturally like elephants; we gather around each other no matter related or otherwise, Thank you.

I couldn’t have had better care, beginning with a warm welcome and caring staff throughout every stage of my visit. Last month I experienced the same level of care when I had my other eye treated. This caring attitude can only come from the “top”....carry on with this excellent work ethic.

I was phoned by Spamedica the day after my optician referred me and had the pre op appointment and surgery within 3 wks. My 2nd cataract was done today 8 wks after the 1st one- only slightly delayed because I was on holiday. What immediately strikes you is how jolly & cheerful everyone is there. The place has a v relaxed and jovial atmosphere whilst the medical staff are highly professional, polite & exemplary. I was given plenty of time to ask questions & discuss things. The nurse I had who did my pre op assessment, and was also the nurse practitioner before both surgeries on 29 May & 23 July, was amazing. She was so reassuring, empathetic and supportive despite her dealing with nervous patients like me multiple times a day. I so appreciated her compassionate approach; she really helped me get through (though prob alt doesn’t realise it!) Both consultants were fantastic talking you through what to expect and explaining each step as they conducted the surgery. I was also grateful today for a very kind nurse who held my hand unprompted as she could obviously see how my heart was still racing whilst in surgery! I am full of admiration and gratitude for all you do. Thank you and keep up the good work!

The staff were kind and attentive.The surgeon was friendly and patient and did a great job. In all it was a good exprience . Each part of the process was clearly explained.

This visit is for my second eye surgery. First was in April 2024. Really relaxed atmosphere. All staff friendly. Throughout all departments I was made to feel an individual, and not part of a conveyor belt. I felt no pain, or un-pleasantness during the procedures. Also no after-effects. Only improved sight and colouring. My transport drivers have been first class, and this has added to my great experience. They were so re-assuring. The facilities at long Hanborough were to behold, with the coffee and biscuits always there when needed. Overall, an experience which began with waiting to travel to the assessment in March, wondering "What have I let myself in for?" to "Wow. That was first class" I would strongly recommend SpaMedica to anybody undergoing cataract surgery. Margaret Barker.
