from being greeted at the door to leaving I was looked after. The Staff all work well together. Cataracts tend to creep up on you, didn't realise how bad they were. having both eyes treated just over 4 weeks apart was great. This has made a great improvement to my life vision and colour has vastly improved. Many thanks to all involved with my treatment.

Having had many professional people examining my eyes over the last five years including an operation I was recommended to go to Spamedica to have cataract operation I had one done 3weeks ago and the difference is amazing I can’t thank this company enough They are truly professional friendly and efficient I now await the second eye to be done all in a very short timescale Thank you Spa medica

So grateful I have been able to have two consecutive cataract operations at SpaMedica, Team Valley, Gateshead. The care I received has been so professional and attentive. The first (right eye) operation was so outstandingly successful. The second eye operations was successful but less spectacularly successful than the first (I still have some slight problems). Thanks to all to lovely staff who looked after me - that's how care should be delivered!!!

The whole experience of having cataracts removed from both eyes has been excellent. Everyone from the Porters, Receptionists, Nurses and the skilled Surgeons are fantastic. Thanks to everyone at Gateshead.

From your first contact with Spa Medica everything is so organised, professional and reassuring. The staff are friendly and put you at ease, nothing is too much trouble. It’s does feel a little like a production line, but that’s how they manage to be so efficient.

I was greatly impressed with the efficient service given,by all staff,and always with a smile. Each step was explained as they went along . I liked the service of coffee / tea and biscuits, while waiting in Ward for operation. It all helps to alleviate the tension. Well done and Thank you. Well done SpaMedica !

From the initial assessment through to my treatment the service from all of the staff was exceptional. Every step of the process was clearly explained with care, understanding and with a smile, and although I was quite anxious about the procedure beforehand, I felt I was in good hands throughout which helped me enormously.

I could not be happier with the experience. I made staff at the clinic aware that I suffer with mental health issues and I become very anxious when I leave home to go to the shops - never mind to have eye surgery carried out. The staff could not have been more helpful and understanding. The nursing staff explained at each stage of the process what was going to happen and checked repeatedly to make sure I was comfortable. Every member of staff from the first person I met when entering the clinic to the surgeon who carried out the cataract surgery were friendly and reassuring. The after care is also very good, with eye drops provided as well as a 24 hour helpline. I can't fault the results I've experienced so far, my distance vision is better than it has been for nearly 40 years. I had been reluctant to go back to the opticians (due to my anxiety) even though my eyesight was deteriorating rapidly. My optician was very sympathetic and it was they who referred me to SpaMedica in Gateshead. I am grateful to my optician and the team at SpaMedica for taking such good care of me in the last few weeks.
