I was referred for cataract surgery by my opticianand after reading the reviews requested Spa Medica for my referral as I was not happy with the pressure that I was being put under from the original clinic that I had been referred to. Basically they wanted me in to do both eyes without ever having seen me! My pre-assessment appointment was received within 2 weeks and I duly attended on 24 April. The free parking is excellent and on arrival at the clinic we were welcomed and asked to take a seat. I was quickly called in and had my 4 assessments all of which were painless, quick and well explained. The final part of the assessment was with the Optometrist who carefully explained my options before we agreed that surgery at this point was not in my interests as I had nothing to gain but with an assurance that I could refer myself back should I need it in the future. Obviously I was very relieved and very grateful to have received all the tests to check my eye health. Should I need cataract surgery in the future I would have no hesitation in choosing Spa Medica. All the staff were lovely and I was offered drinks several times while waiting for the next bit of my assessment. My only query really is why the original optician referred me so quickly for cataract surgery when in actual fact surgery is not necessary right now and may not be in the future. My advice would be to get a second opinion if you are unhappy or unsure but I could not fault Spa Medica at all and just grateful that they have a pre assessment appointment before proceeding with surgery. Needless to say I am very grateful to the Optometrist for guiding me to the right decision and not making me undergo unnecessary surgery.

Just had my second eye done at SpaMedica Bromley. Cannot fault them at all as with my first eye done there as well three months ago. Very helpful caring professional staff which is a real help if you are nervous Extremely well organised and a very high standard of cleanliness - when I went the place was spotless. Thank you SpaMedica haven’t stopped singing your praises to everyone who asks. And the most important outcome, my vision is great, so a million thank yous to your amazing medical staff.

All the staff are very friendly and helpful all are so sufficient made me feel at ease , had the best hot chocolate I've tasted . Such a lovely bunch of people .

My optholomist had recommended Spa medica, Bromley as it was specialising in Cataract surgery and conveniently nearby. Very impressed with prompt efficient and professional handling by all the staff at pre surgery assessment as well as the surgery.

From start to finish everything ran very smoothly; appointments and procedures progressed as per schedule with no delays or unforeseen problems. The operations themselves (both eyes) were carried out very professionally and painlessly, and I am extremely satisfied with the outcome. I have nothing but praise for all the staff involved and would not hesitate to recommend Spa Medica to all my friends.

I have had 2 visits to this Spamedica centre. The first last December to have my 2nd cataract done, as for some reason funding to have this done at my local centre had run out. This was inconvenient as I live 10 minutes from the Epsom centre and an hour from Bromley. However the staff were equally friendly and efficient, although I had my first delayed appoint cancelled had to wait for an hour after my appointment time before, leaving the reception area. Unfortunately this 2nd cataract, was not as successful as my first (done at Epsom) and I had to go back to Epsom after 10 days as the eye was 'uncomfortable' and my vision in that eye slightly blurred (but better). I subsequently returned for vag treatment after 3 months, which was very quick and efficient. Indeed I was called in a few minutes early and was discharged within the hour, 2 hours quicker then advised. I'm not certain as to the results as I'm told I need to leave it 2 weeks before I can see my optical for a hopefully final eye test, so I can then get the appropriate glasses for the best vision. Generally the actual procedures have been excellent and it has been great to see better then I have for 40 years, however after the initial quick referral and have my first eye done, the delays in getting the 2nd eye done at a more distant centre it has been a bit trying. I fully support these public private initiatives to try to resolve the ever worse situation the NHS seems getting into and only wish my local gp and Nhs hospital was half as efficient as Spamedica.

I had an assessment on the 21 March it could not be completed because the nurse didn’t turn up I was told that someone would call me this didn’t happen after phoning them Saturday was told that they would call me so after 4 phone call to them I have been totally ignored and i have no choice but to drive the 1.5 hours each way to try and sort out the situation all I have done is waste my time an appalling way to treat the patient

From diagnosis to Procedure was within 5 weeks. The clinic is perfectly located next to Bromley North Station and within yards of several bus routes. The Clinic staff are efficient and Professional, and the procedure was carried out by a great team. There was no area that was not up to first class standard.

As I say, very polished service, very slick with everyone appearing to know what another was doing. Everyone from reception to the nurse who explained ones ongoing aftercare and sends you on your way had a smile. Makes a big difference when you are anxious. Very happy indeed with the whole process.
