    A well organised service where most staff at the hospital showed care. Due to circumstances at the hospital for my pre assessment my interview with the nurse took place at the beginning of the session so I did not have the opportunity to ask questions. When home I became concerned about the consultant's reference to Fatty globules in my eye. Contacting Spa Medica to ask about this was not easy. I abandoned my first attempt because I could not be heard My second attempts was very difficult: many conversations I could hear in the background made it difficult to hear the call handler who was speaking to me. Eventually a very helpful optometrist was successful in contacting me and explained very honestly about Drusen's syndrome. The experience of having the procedure was very reassuring and positive although I found the nurse I saw for the first drops rather brusque and unsympathetic towards the difficulties I have with self administering my eye drops. I have bought an autodrop, as recommended which helps with the Pred Poste drops but does not fit the aeon drop bottle. The aeon drops take a long time to drop and the bottle requires a hard pumping action which my arthritic thumbs have difficulty with. My husband has visual difficulties and is unable to help with the drops and there is no family near enough to help. This is a source of anxiety for me.

    I had a cataract removed from one eye in Apri 2024 and the other eye in May - all done in just six weeks. Even though other people will tell you that the operation is quick and painless, there is inevitable apprehension when it is your turn. The Staff here are excellent, from Reception to Surgery, to discharge and follow up arrangements. Everyone I met over the two occasions was professional, efficient, friendly and reassuring and the results are stunning! I hae nothing but praise for all concerned and would recommend anyne needing cataract surgery to SpaMedica (Brighton).

    I was very impressed with the speed of the whole process from seeing my optician to to operation was under two weeks. Not sure if I was very lucky or this is normal. I will find out the answer when my next one is done

    I have had cataract surgery on both eyes. On every visit to the clinic I was treated with courtesy and efficiency The actual operations were very quick. I had two different surgeons and both were good. The only downside was when I made my first appointment no mention was made of the fact that I would need to leave my contact lenses out for 2 weeks prior to the appointment I had therefore to rebook.

    The staff were incredibly friendly and nothing was a bother for them. Thank you so much for such great treatment and professionalism. If I ever need a similar procedure done again, I hope it can be here.

    The whole procedure from pre -op assessment to the operation itself was very pleasurable and the staff helped to make it so. I am impressed by the short operation and how comfortable it was. One small criticism was that at times there was a lot of sitting around. Well done team.

    First cataract surgery done just 4 weeks after referral and 2 weeks after pre-assessment at the Clinic. Friendly, reassuring staff and on my way home in just over two hours. One week on and everything has settled down with excellent results. Clarity of vision after surgery and through the new lense is superb. Will be back for the other eye to be done following the 6 week checkup at my local opticians. Clarity of vision after surgery and through the new lense is superb.
