Put at ease from reception through to nurse stations to theatre and after care nurse kept informed of every procedure taken and explained to the full I am a nervous patient but was looked after expertly makin my experience one that I would happily return with no fear at all ..

I had my second cataract operation yesterday and I want to say a big thank you to the surgeon and all the staff who looked after me so well. I was nervous at the time but the theatre staff made me so comfortable and the operation itself was quick and painless. What a wonderful place to have your operation. A great big thanks to all involved.

I had cataract removal surgery three days ago at SpaMedica in Birmingham. I cannot fault any part of the procedure. All staff were very friendly and professional. Everything was explained to me throughout and I am delighted with the outcome.

This was my second visit for cataract surgery and as the first visit I cannot recommend highly enough. From the reception team through to the surgeon I was looked after extremely well which takes away any anxiety about the procedure. Thanks so much to everyone. Terry Gibbs

From the time I was picked up by Spa Medica transport, the service was exemplary. On arrival at the hospital, check-in was swift and courteous, refreshments offered and delivered. Treatment was fully explained, questions answered and medications to the eye administered. Short waiting time in the ward for the meds to take effect. Then, called in to receive a short chat from the surgeon to explain the operation. Then the operation, called into theatre, placed into position, masked where necessary and the operation itself was painless and, over very quickly. All I had to do was remain still and look at a bright, coloured light during the operation. It was all over in minutes. After the operation, I was given instructions on a regime to follow, given drops for the operated eye, and full instructions on administering the given drops, plus, the regime was fully explained. The whole experience was superb. Staff were faultless and extremely pleasant and helpful. This was also my second cataract operation at the Birmingham Hospital and, I have no hesitation whatsoever of recommending them for treatment. Thank you so much, SpaMedica!

From the moment i was referred to Spa Medica the service has been excellent. The information given from every employee to say what would happen was excellent and helped me relax. The waiting list was very short, even to the point that due to a bad cough, i had to cancel the appt a few days before and the next available app was only a few days away so i had to ask if i could have one in a months time to allow time for the cough to clear. On the day of the op i was given exact information from each member of staff on what would be happening at each stage. Although i was extreemly anxious about the op, the staff helped me manage that to a minimum. The op was painless and very fast (they said 10 - 15 mins but it felt less than 5 mins) and if you have cateracts i advise that its well worth having done. The only negative i can say is that the Spa Medica in Birmingham was not easy to find the first time
