I have a pathological dread of hospitals, so was very surprised to discover that I actually enjoyed my visits on surgery day and the earlier pre-assessment. Everything went smoothly and all of the staff were extremely kind and professional. Contrary to what I had been told about possibly having to wait a few days for the vision to lose its blur, as soon as the shield was removed, the following morning, everything was totally in focus. Everything is lighter, whites are whiter and colours are brighter. In fact, they pop! The cataract was in my left eye, causing blurred vision, and I considered the right eye to be the better one. Now it is the worst, less sharp and with a yellow cast over everything. There is also an imbalance in distance, the new left-side lens bringing objects closer. I let some time elapse before posting this review as I was informed this will be corrected, over time, as the eyes adjust but, so far, nearly four months on, it remains the same. Perhaps, the situation will be resolved when I have the right side done. Can’t wait to return and meet all those lovely people again. If you are at all worried or nervous about having cataract surgery, please don’t be; you won’t feel a thing and, who knows, you might, like me, actually enjoy it.

All the surgery and transport excellent . My wife and I were not fully satisfied when we phoned a few days later for "urgent advice". After 24 hrs we still had not had a call back . It was a weekend. It was a techniocal question the call handler could not answer. My wife was worried and we felt there should have been a better, faster call back service to allay fears.

Going for any surgical procedure is always a bit fraught but SpaMedica made the whole experience easy and comfortable. The staff display competence and professionalism while retaining a friendly and approachable demeanour.

I have now had cataracts removed from both eyes at the Bexhill Clinic. Staff were professional and friendly. They answered all my questions and put me at ease. I would highly recommend the service provided.

From diagnosis to treatment this service was fast, friendly and efficient. They took time and were meticulous in preparing me for my operation. Very thorough and considerate. The actual operation mirrored this in being efficient and very effective. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this service.
