  1. Review titled Very profesional

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have finished my treatment in the Mount Vernon Hospital last week. I was going there for 5 weeks and in the last week I had my brachi. I want to leave a feedback for radiographers, all the nurses, doctors and receptionists working there but also transport people. I was very scared starting my treatment but everybody made it very professional, very friendly, very helpful and very empathetic. Thank you for making my treatment less painful.

  2. Review titled Fantastic Radiology Team

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I have just finished a course of radiotherapy at Mount Vernon. All the radiology teams were amazing. Polite, friendly, professional and informative. They also respected a patient’s dignity. I was dreading this treatment but these wonderful people made it all bearable. Could not praise them higher. Also the hospital has agreed a reduced payment for cancer patients, taking some of the stress out of car parking charges. Thank you.

  3. Review titled Great care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had 5 sessions of radiotherapy for breast cancer. All the staff were caring and efficient. The radiographers went out of their way to explain the procedure and were always looking out for my welfare and had a friendly manner. The follow up phone calls were also reassuring. I am grateful to have access to such an excellent facility.

  4. Review titled poor practice

Rated 5 stars out of 5

my telephone appointment was rearranged because of staff shortage for 3 weeks later. I was expecting a call at 13:25 - it never came. I understand that timings are not always kept but at 18:00 I still had not had a call. At 18:37 and 18:40 my phone registered 2 missed calls from a private number which may have been the call I was expecting but at that time I was in the bath. It is very frustrating that this has happened again. It is so stressful. The care I have received has been outstanding but the telephone appointments have been a very poor service. I have contacted my nurses several times to ask if they can help but it is not really their job. Please review this service to see how it can be improved. I have had to rebook by contacted the appointments service who then have to contact secretaries to do this. Stress is not supposed to be part of the process.

  5. Review titled Excellent

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I had brachytherapy, not an easy procedure to have to go through, at Mount Vernon and can’t fault the treatment from start to finish. Every single member of staff including the porters treated me with respect and went out of their way to make me feel at ease. The brachytherapy team were amazing. Thank you

  6. Review titled Issues with patient transport

    by Grahamvc23 - Posted on 30 May 2023

My 83 year old mother was left waiting 3 hours outside Mount Vernon Hospital for the private patient transport company to collect her following radiotherapy treatment. They called three times during her wait to promise they were on their way but failed to show up. Is this any way to treat an immunocompromised cancer patient following invasive treatment? I feel the hospital need to review their patient transport options.

Had a short course of radiotherapy, the staff were fabulous, caring & considerate. Yes there were some delays but everyone was working as fast as they could.
