Review titled Getting help
Rated 3 stars out of 5
by Christine Vanstone - Posted on 22 August 2024
I have tried for several days to get through to the Village Surgery by telephone without success. In desperation I presented at reception with two requests. Having twisted my back I asked that the receptionist ask the doctor if I could have a prescription of painkillers I’d had before. I was told to ring the next morning for a call back or go and buy them. (Unsatisfactory, no help at all). My second request was to have my repeat description a few days early as I’m going on holiday and will run out whilst away. Told to ring up three days before I go and ask again. (Unsatisfactory again. Can’t ever get through) Why can I never get any co operation. Why is someone not medically trained telling me to buy painkillers over the counter when it’s always a doctor who needs to telling me what medication I can have. Why is nothing easy anymore.

Great service today from receptionist. My problem was resolved by a very helpful person, it took some time but she continued until a great solution was found. Thank you very much

Review titled Frustrating
Rated 3 stars out of 5

I try to ring docs & after holding on for what seems an eternity & listening to the continuous repetitive msg about being able to access the system on line, I regularly find that I cannot access this feature as it is 'temporarily out of service' honestly what is the point? This happens very regularly too. It's frustrating & it's very annoying. I understand there is no excuse for the abuse of your staff, but sometimes you do need to acknowledge where your patients' anger is coming from. I've worked on a front line desk meeting members of the public, so I do speak from experience.

The surgery was absolutely bursting with many patients today and yet the reception team were so polite, professional, calm and helpful.
