  1. Review titled Well Done NHS

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Linda - Posted on 09 October 2024

I needed a doctors appointment but as it was already late morning my surgery was fully booked for the day. I was advised to call the Access Centre, after a short wait on the phone I was given an appointment a couple of hours later that same day. The Access Centre has free parking and is modern clean and has pleasant surroundings. By mid afternoon I was back home with prescription in hand. Everyone I spoke to that day was polite and helpful and got me the treatment I needed. Well done all.

Easy to get to and free parking only problem could do with better sign posting took ages to find the department we needed. Service was fantastic no waiting much easier than visiting Royal Hospital

  4. Review titled Absolutely dire

Rated 1 star out of 5

Husband asked to attend for blood test on a Saturday morning. This is not our usual GP surgery. No public transport links, no signage, no one answering the phone. Finally walked through ground floor car park - signs by doors at far end, hidden from view. No signage in lifts, so with limited mobility, upstairs. Automatic patient book in service not recognising details. Lukewarm reception. Phlebotomist was lovely. Full marks to her! What on Earth is happening to our NHS? Currently sat in waiting room listening to call centre people complaining about how hard they're working. I don't think so, from what I've just seen and heard!

  5. Review titled Awful

Rated 1 star out of 5

Waited four weeks for a telephone appt where it was clearly obvious a face to face was required, as expected then had to go in, no idea why they can’t use some common sense around deciding whether an appt should be in person or not - very inefficient and takes no account of the impacts to the patient. Finally got to see a doctor - and I am quite accepting that it took 4 weeks, I can appreciate the current situation. Was told I needed to be referred, on week 5 on not receiving the referral !!! Ring up reception they say yes it on the system just has been completed to send out - can’t say when it will be!! I wouldn’t mind it taking a while if they could even give an indication of when it will be done. Just unacceptable.
