I was appointed for 9-30am by my GP practice and instructed on arrival to pass through the double doors at the UTC and proceed to a second set of doors to enter the Hub. However on trying to pass through the first set of doors I was stopped by the Receptionist seemed to be involved in a prolonged and in depth conversation with another patient regarding their condition. I was sent back outside to join a couple who also had a 9-30am appointment in the Hub. Finally the couple who it seemed had been waiting for sometime and were getting worried about missing their appointment, where called forward. The Receptionist then called out to me to "go around the back" when I asked why she hadn't told me this in the first place, she claimed she had done. I followed her directions which took me to a door which had a number pad and was obviously a staff entrance, I continued walking and entered a building which although not signposted turned out to be the Hub and met up with the couple I had originally been stood with. Why then had I been sent on a different route to get to the same place as the couple? I feel as was treated in a rude and disrespectful manner by the Receptionist. I later learnt that it seems you involving your patients in a petty squabble between the UTC and Hub regarding how the patients are expected access the Department.
