  1. Review titled Dangerous Service

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 August 2024

I have been under this service for many years now. The lack of care is shocking, a mockery of everyone who seeks their help. Unstable staffing means you rarely see the same person for a consistent amount of time. My most recent appointment I was told I’d be considered for discharge by a psychiatrist who has only seen me on one occasion before this. The appointment wasn’t a proper appointment. Prescribed my meds without asking if I’m getting on well with them. The lack of knowledge of autism and mental illness is deplorable. And now I am fearing discharge when it is the most unsafe and reckless decision that could be made. It doesn’t matter what you say, you’ll be ignored.

  3. Review titled Needs to be closed down

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 05 August 2024

Having been rereferred here again by my gp. I think this service seriously needs to be closed down. It’s dangerous. On Both occasions that I have tried to access this service my Mh has been made worse. On both times the initial assessment was completed the letter sent to my drs that I received a copy of contained so many lies and was full of very inaccurate information as to what i told them. And some of it was quite dangerous in what they had stated compared to the truth. Ie. when i had told them about My conditions in my family history they stated a totally different family member in the letter. The most recent time I was shocked that on arrival of my appointment the room I was led into was not fit to be classed as fit for purpose especially in a medical capacity. It was a total mess. Loads of Messy Stacks of chairs piled up at one end, computer not even turned on, loads of papers strewn around the room. Not to mention that in the waiting room they had a timetable of upcoming groups etc they offered and they were at least 12 months out of date. Since my initial assessment I have been made a further appointment with who I am told is one of their psychiatrists but i now have a long wait until then. No support being offered to me of any type in the meantime. Unfortunately I was told by my drs this service is the one that all Hertfordshire Mh patients are being referred to. So I have no choice but go via them. I feel totally stuck

  4. Review titled Terrible disappointing service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 19 January 2023

Despite being referred here by another mental health service this team offered no help at all. I was referred for a diagnosis by another team. They just told me to go to other services (GP and CGL) which they know would eventually refer me back to them. Suggested I pay for private therapy but couldn’t even suggest what type of therapy would be best for me. I genuinely wish I had never been referred to this team. It took me a long time and a lot of courage to ask for help. They seemed to listen and told me what they could offer but then sent me a letter offering nothing. This team was my last chance and I was hopeful and grateful for anything they could offer. Unfortunately it was absolutely nothing at all. I appreciate they must look after people with much more severe problems than me but they could have at least made some helpful suggestions for where I could get proper help. The experience has made me feel completely worthless, not deserving of any help and without any hope of ever getting better. I have never felt so hopeless in my life. Nobody who is begging for help should be made to feel like that. If you already have a diagnosis of a serious mental health condition I’m sure this service would help you. I don’t want to scare everyone away. if you don’t have a diagnosis of a serious mental illness already then just be cautious in what you expect.
