  1. Review titled Blood tests

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 September 2024

I’ve had many blood tests at Courtside, and while the nurses are very friendly, I do struggle with the way they take blood samples. This is not about one nurse in particular, but rather every experience I’ve had since having regular blood samples taken. As far as I can remember, I have not yet had a nurse use gloves, which would be fine - except I’ve not had a nurse visibly clean or wash their hands before completing the procedure on me, and a few of them have had quite dirty finger nails. 90% of the time, the nurse does not sterilise my arm before inserting the needle, which is a risk for infection. As far as I am aware, multiple use, clip on and tighten tourniquets have not been permitted for use for around 15 years, as they were deemed a hazard or dangerous - using the same tourniquet across all patients, and none of the ones used on myself have appeared clean. This poses risk for infection, disease transmission, cross contamination and it’s just unpleasant in general to know I share this equipment with other patients. It takes a simple search to see that the NHS site themselves do not recommend the use of them. I understand a blood test is a simple procedure, but I don’t feel that this should mean standards need to slip in terms of practice, as this makes me question the standard of clinical practice for other, complex procedures. It would be nice to see a better clinical performance to put patient’s minds at ease.

  2. Review titled Unsafe practices

Rated 1 star out of 5

I challenged the nurse doing my blood test, my daughter had a blood test last week and found that this practice still continues The treatment room staff at courtside surgery routinely use dirty tourniquets when carrying out blood tests instead of single patient use straps, the staff don’t wear gloves during these procedures, poor hand hygiene and extremely poor to nil a sceptic non touch technique, serious risk to patients of cross contamination and totally at odds with infection prevention and control measures, putting patient safety at high risk.

  3. Review titled Poor service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Dave Merritt - Posted on 14 August 2024

I was asked to book a cholesterol clinic. I did this, and arranged for a phone appointment for 09.30. When the reminder came through, it stated a face to face meeting? I queried this and was told that I should attend the surgery, as they couldn't guarantee what time the call would be. I can't take my phone into work meetings. I arrived for my appointment & logged in 09.25. I then waited until 10.00am but was not called for my appointment. I told the receptionist I couldn't wait any longer and had to return to work. She then stated I was a"walk out" implying I was at fault? I had already had to move appointments to attend in person, arrived on time, waited 1/2 an hour for appointment, and then had to leave. The clinician who I was due to see was at fault, not me. If they are running so late & people are booked in, why can't they let reception know to inform people waiting. Poor service and disappointing outcome. Not impressed at being made to feel I had done wrong.

  5. Review titled Absolutely disgusting service!!!

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 14 July 2024

After presenting to the surgery for a condition, was referred for something completely different by one doctor to what the findings were on consultation!!!!! Lack of reading peoples medical notes i guess. Next i have had to constanly chase for results from xray to which finally another doctor of whom I've refused to see in the past due to his Blahsay attitude had posted a two word comment on my page on the nhs App. Next after requsting an open referal for health insurance to investigate the condition i presented and had positive physical results for, the next doctor produced a referal for something different. Following all this the attitude from the reception/telephone staff when trying to get all rectified is absolutey disgusting and dam right rude at all levels...

  6. Review titled Poor service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 13 June 2024

As a full time working patient I normally have to take a day off work to go to the doctor, my job doesn’t allow me to nip out for a GP appointment. In the past I was able to arrange a morning off work and ring that morning to get an appointment causing minimal stress to my working day and life. Now with the econsult system I have to take whatever appointment I can in fear of never seeing a doctor and then I have to wait a minimum of half hour to see the doctor, this service is poor and does not take into consideration the full time workers that have to juggle work and health at the same time, all it’s succeeded in doing is cause me to suffer more stress and exacerbate my health conditions. Perhaps there needs to be inclusivity for all and not discriminate against working patients.

  7. Review titled What's wrong with face to face app!

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 29 May 2024

The surgery has gone downhill. All the doctors want to do is make phone calls.i filled out the E consult as couldn't give me app, I just want to see someone in person but have to answer 50 questions before then only being offered a phone call. Then walk into the surgery & still can't offer any appointments. What's wrong with face to face!! U can't check blood pressure over the phone!

Seen quickly, doctor was kind, listened and professional. I had kinda given up seeing the same doctor twice but hopefully I can have continuity with one dr - it really does make a difference. Thank you

  9. Review titled Amazing!!

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Shauni Maidment - Posted on 08 May 2024

I was in a panic due to my own oversight. I havent had a period in over 120 days and was given tablets by fertility doctor to bring it on. Finished my tablets and went to get my period pack and realised I only had 1 tablet left of my prescribed pain killers to help with my debilitating period pain. I sent a request on Monday (which was a bank holiday) explaining my issue and apologising and got a text tuesday afternoon saying my prescription was sent to my pharmacy. Amazing service and I'm extremely grateful!!! I've been saved from a week of being curled up in pain and having to take time off work! Thank you all so so much!!
