Your Review: Mon 17th July 2023 I had symptoms of a Urinary tract infection.I had a family member who is a nurse dip test my urine sample which indicated abnormalities including traces of blood. I explained to General Practitioner receptionist and requested a blood form and sample pot to have this tested. I was Informed this is not the procedure of the surgery and would need to have a conversation with a General Practitioner initially. After being unable to obtain an appointment on telephone or face to face I was I instructed to contact 111 service. This I did and after a telephone assessment was instructed I would have to attend Accident & Emergency at local hospital to have the urine sample tested there. This I did and waited 2 hours to be assessed . Urine sample was dip tested, u t i confirmed and anti biotics issued. I was also advised that there would be no follow up of testing urine sample to identify type of bacteria. This would have to done at my General practitioners surgery. After 4 days my symptoms have worsened. Today I have requested an appointment at my surgery ,telephone or face to face and been advised it is 32 days before there is availability. I've explained to the receptionist that my symptoms have worsened . She has instructed me to contact 111 or attend local accident and emergency dept I Explained I have done this already . My other option is to ring at 8am tomorrow to try to get appointment, which cannot be guaranteed. I find this totally unacceptable. Surely common sense would prevail and me be provided with a sample pack including a form to submit with new sample to be sent off to be tested under laboratory conditions, after which a more specific anti biotic could be described. I would like an explanation why it appears I have been instructed to go round in circles to identify what I feel could be a simple seamless procedure??? And am now being asked to repeat this pathway again.... just seems a nonsense and a waste or resources. Regards Angela Stridgeon
