  1. Review titled Best place for coil fitting

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 20 August 2024

I went to Dean St years ago for a coil fitting and just went again to get it replaced. Both times I had a great experience and was treated with kindness and empathy, which makes a change from how female patients can be treated elsewhere, especially re: pain. Would thoroughly recommend and would not go anywhere else.

  3. Review titled The best NHS experience I’ve had

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Theresa - Posted on 06 September 2024

I had a copper coil fitted this morning and was so incredibly impressed by the Dean Street team. Everyone was helpful and friendly, the appointment was on time and the person that fitted the coil really took the time to make me feel at ease, explained everything really thoroughly, mentioned alternative options without pressuring me and was overall kind and caring. Routine procedures for women are often dealt with in a way that pain mgmt and side effects get ignored but this really wasn’t the case here. Thank you!

  4. Review titled Over and beyond

Rated 5 stars out of 5

I visited the clinic on the 18/05/24 as the mater of urgency and I’ve been told the next appointment is in a week time, however if there is any cancellation or chance they will call me on the day. 15 minutes later the kindly and most professional receptionist I’ve met called me to book me in within an hour to receive from the yet again most kind and professional clinicians the treatment I needed. I would like to thank the team for their kindness and understanding of my situation and for their professionalism.

If it wasn’t for this service I’d be in a terrible mess now. I cannot express enough gratitude for the quick, efficient and welcoming staff who attended to my situation. I am forever in debt to this amazing team. Thank you so much xxx

  6. Review titled Concerned about clinic practice re:bloods

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 04 April 2024

I attended a recent appointment where I was seen by a clinical nurse who was very empathetic and approachable (this part of the service was exceptional) However I am concerned about how this clinical setting handles bloods, I was directed to submit my blood and urine samples via a hatch. When I opened the hatch which is not secure to leave my bloods samples there were other patients samples still in the hatch. I tapped on the hatch a few times to see if any of the clinical team were aware that other samples were still in the hatch. I left the hatch room and another patient entered straight after me which now my blood and urine samples were still in the hatch again is not secure My concerns which I raised with a staff member and a lab member were 1, the opportunity of samples in the hatch being tampered or 2, even taken by persons unscrupulous was a serious concern for me. Having raised my concerns I felt that I was being dismissed and the comment your “concerns are noted raised by the hand” certainly did not give me confidence that my serious concerns which were legitimate had actually been taken on board ( this is the reason I am leaving this review) also I explained that I had previously worked in HIV services and did not believe that the hatch process or procedures was secure or appropriately managed at 56 Dean St

  7. Review titled I feel let down by the service

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 23 February 2024

I came to Dean Street at a time where I felt like I was ready to receive support with regard to chemsex, but felt anything but supported by the team. I felt that my care was poorly handled from the start. Due to the nature of my work, I was told that I had to refer myself to occupational health and I was to be signed off of work. This was done via a 3 minute phone call toward the later end of the day, with no channel of communication to address any of my queries. The only saving grace was the psychiatric consultant who was kind enough to hear me out without judgment and I felt that he was really keen to help me get better. I hear nothing else from Dean Street until today where I had a phone call asking about my relationship with chems (what I assume to be a follow-up from our previous correspondence). I was unable to take the call because of how I have felt with regard to my life situation and the uncertainty of what my future looks, but it was insinuated that I was unable to take the call because I was intoxicated and high. I am now left in a situation where I am stressed about my financial situation in the coming months, given that I do not qualify for full sick pay for what I believe is to be time off of work for at least 6 months. I believe that a referral to the regulatory body that governs my profession has been made as well, and the future of my career feels bleak and I spend most days feeling anxious and in the last few weeks, suicidal at times as well. In retrospect, had I known that this would have been the outcome of me to seek help, I would not have done so. I understand that there was a duty to breach confidentiality, but I think handling this case in such a manner would prevent others in a similar situation from coming forth to seek help.

  9. Review titled Outstanding NHS service

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Will - Posted on 11 October 2023

I turned up a little early, was dealt with efficiently by reception (v nice guys). Quick and easy to use test kits. Knowledgeable doctors/nurses for bloods, etc. Very useful chat about 'prevention' and self care, etc. Staff are all very approachable, kind, and listen. (And non-judgemental.)
