  1. Review titled A & E care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 16 December 2022

Arrived 1.30am and was seen quickly and told I would need blood tests, CT scan and Xray. The staff were excellent, very friendly and competent. The only adverse comment was that no mention was made that the various departments do not open until later (9.00) and no indication as to when the consultant would be available.

  2. Review titled Sincere thanks for treatment at a superbly run hospital

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Timothy Norris - Posted on 21 November 2022

I was admitted to the hospital with severe lacerations due to an accident with a gardening tool that malfunctioned. The service and treatment that I received at the hospital was absolutely superb. The staff were very professional and efficient. I cannot thank the hospital more heartily. In conclusion, this hospital deserves the very best 5-star rating.

  3. Review titled Care and humanity towards patient's loved ones

Rated 4 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 24 October 2022

We made numerous visits to our terminally ill friend in Necton Ward. Staff were very kind to us and even arranged a place onsite for us to stay overnight when our friend's end neared. The staff saw the plight of us as concerned visitors and went the extra mile to make the time as calm and caring as it could be. We are truly grateful to the staff of Necton Ward for their many humanity and kindness towards us.

  5. Review titled Disappointing service

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 26 October 2022

Arriving by ambulance, joined a queue of fifteen ambulalances. Waited in ambulance for 6.5 hours before going into hospital. Bloods and triage in vehicle, told a doc would come, never arrived, nothing to eat or drink offered Eventually in A And E and waited another fIve hours to see a consultant. No cardiac consultant available. Sent home next day with meds changed without seeing cardiac consultant.felt they were just keen to get you out without solving the problem, come back to different dept next week if you are not dead by then!! Some lovely nursing staff but hierarchy questionable.

I am very sorry to read about your experience of being a patient in our A&E department following an arrival by ambulance. Whilst we endeavour to offer the best care possible to all patients it is clear that your experience did not meet your expectations and there are areas we could have improved upon. If you would like your experience to be looked into please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01553 613351 or 01553 613343 or via email pals@qehkl.nhs.uk. We can then have a greater understanding of the difficulties you had and for us to learn and make improvements where we are able. In the meantime I have shared your feedback with our A&E team so that they can consider areas for improvement. 6. Review titled Fantastic maternity care

Rated 5 stars out of 5

by Joanna Stubley - Posted on 02 November 2022

I recently had my baby at the start of October and received outstanding care not only during my labour and birth, but also when attending prior to this for checks at day assessment unit and delivery unit. I would like to thank you all (midwives, doctors, housekeeping, nurses, maternity care assistants, surgical staff) for the care that we received and for the amazing job you all continue to do despite the national pressures on midwifery at the moment.

Dear Ms Stubley Thank you for your great feedback that you posted onto this website in October last year - I am extremely sorry for the delay in responding to your comment. I have shared your comments and experience with colleagues in Maternity so that they are aware of how you were pleased with the care you received throughout your pregnancy and from all involved. I know that they will appreciate your feedback (especially as you say) with the national pressures currently placed on maternity services across the country. 7. Review titled Poor pharmacy performance

Rated 4 stars out of 5

Waited 5 hours for tablets to take home. Needs a better service as this is not acceptable. Admissions and discharges are slowed by this.

Firstly I apologise for the delay in responding to your feedback. Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience of our Pharmacy service, I am very sorry that it did not meet your expectations. There are many elements to safely supporting our patients to be discharged home following a hospital stay including transport, packages of care, final test results and of course medication. As you have experienced these all take time and can cause delays. Every effort is made by all concerned to reduce delays to give patients a smooth journey home following an inpatient stay in hospital. This website allows you to feed back anonymously but if you would like your concerns looked into please contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) for more information 01553 613351 or 01553 613343 or via email pals@qehkl.nhs.uk Kind regards Emma Harrison Patient Experience and Public Involvement Lead tel: 01553 613613 x2432 email: emma.harrison@qehkl.nhs.uk

  8. Review titled Rheumatology

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 17 December 2022

Overall this hospital manages incredibly well with limited resources and a deteriorating building. The majority of staff are compassionate, willing to listen to their patients, helpful and also able to explain test results and treatments. However, my experience with the locum rheumatologist was not good. For a clinician to smile and be upbeat whilst telling a patient they will never get better and things will only get worse seems cruel. Whilst a professional may find the conditions they work with interesting, for the patient it is by no means exciting or funny. The attitude of comply with a treatment, without question or deviation, or go away is also incredibly difficult for patients, particularly when they have reacted badly to the medication and when other hospitals would consider alternatives under such circumstances.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your recent experience with our Rheumatology team. I am very sorry about the delay in time to respond to your comment and equally sorry that your experience was not as you would have expected. I am forwarding your feedback to one of our Consultant Rheumatologists so that she can see how patients are experiencing the care they have received. As feedback on this website is anonymous I am unable to look into your concerns further but would recommend that you contact our PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Service) team who will be able to obtain some more information from you and hopefully find out how we can improve the experience for yourself and other patients in future.
