  1. Review titled Frustrating A & E

Rated 2 stars out of 5

by Lisa - Posted on 25 April 2024

After almost 12 hours in A & E and very little communication I feel I must leave this review. Sent here by GP for a MRI scan on spine. After booking in and triage (within 1 hour) left waiting for a further 5 hours to be taken for scan. After scan 1hr15 wait to be taken back to A&E with a further 3 hr 30 to be spoken to regarding the scan. Surely there is a better system? There was no one waiting in the MRI department and communication could be so much better. We were only updated when seeking out a staff member. There were many people, in obvious pain just waiting around yesterday, all day and the situation for wheelchair users was dire, with barely anywhere to go. It is obviously not a big enough space for the number of residents in and around Preston!

  2. Review titled Appointment constantly cancelled and rescheduled

Rated 1 star out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 25 April 2024

I've been waiting since my last appointment in November of last year for an appointment I was meant to have in February, which was to review a medication I was put on. This appointment got cancelled and then rescheduled till May. I have now just received a letter that it's been cancelled again and rescheduled for October. I was put on that medication to see if I needed surgery for my symptoms! I'm exhausted. It's impossible to get through to the gynae department through phone calls at all and I'm just so exhausted. My quality of life is deteriorating and nobody in the Royal Preston Hospital cares!

  3. Review titled Incompetent

Rated 5 stars out of 5

My severely disabled son, who can't speak had an IV sited under an ultrasound, three quarters of a saline bag was pumped into his arm tissue. His armed swelled, skin tissue was tight. This caused discomfort resulting in my son crying and having to take morphine in order to sleep. " This can happen it's not as uncommon as you think" was the response.

  4. Review titled Accessible toilets

Rated 3 stars out of 5

by Anonymous - Posted on 28 November 2023

Preston hospital Wheelchair user, needed to use the bathroom before an appointment. Tried to use the disabled toilet near the main entrance just past the chemist. The smell I can not put into words, I was nearly sick. Couldn't bare the smell, tried to find another accessible toilet, next to the main canteen... locked from the outside. Staff didn't know why or couldn't point me to another that was unlocked. Squeezed the chair into a bathroom luckily. Door into the main entrance broken so people pushed past the Wheelchair to get through. It was a battle to get an disabled parking bay

Thank you to all the Critical Care MaxFax and Ward 3 teams at Royal Preston Hospital. Your dedication, caring, expertise and ability to inspire is second to none. I suffered physically and mentally but you picked me up and quite literally got me back on my feet. Thank you
